Good morning Andrea,,
Glad to hear that you are enjoying your vacation. Please be careful with the sunburnt nose, or anywhere else that wasn't covered. Even the most seasoned Aruba lovers can forget just how intense the Aruba sun can be.
Did you get the watch battery you were looking for?
Thank you for mentioning your visit to the Alto Vista Chapel. It is indeed a special place for prayer and quiet reflection. The spirits of those we love and who love us but who we can no longer see, seem to reach out in a meaningful way when we are there.
Sunday for you both should hopefully be a pool, ocean and lay back doing nothing kind of day.
Enjoy your day.
Glenn
I have the same issue with my nose and us 70 SPF on it. It is the only thing that works.
I have a back up camera on my SUV at home and miss not having it in Aruba. I am shopping for a new vehicle at home and the one I will be getting has a wide angle option and you can change it to see you bumper. It also sensors that beep if you get too close. All of them are Hondas.
I have a Chevy Equinox in the States (a 2018). Has a beautiful wide camera in the area of where a radio would be and a beeper. Love, love, love it! Here I have only a camera and it is in the inside rearview mirror...not real helpful at all!

Again, no rain that we saw and the winds were calmer (which made it hot)
We got to Reflexions early at about 9 and had the place to ourselves for only a little while.
The young man that led us to our spot said Welcome Back and are you sure that you want a lounge, after all we never see you out of the water!. It is true, I am in that water more than out!
The local folks began arriving and soon the beach was filled with lots of families including toddlers and dogs.
We enjoyed watching the antics of both!
A little mutt, maybe 20 lbs named Olaf became my new friend. He parked himself under my lounge and there he stayed for about 3 hours…only coming out to get a drink of water and to try to hump a couple of much larger female dogs. But that is another story. Yikes.
We had our lunch there….split a burger and split a quesadilla. Both were good, but too much food for so early in the day!
Before 2 we headed off to SuperFood and bought a few items that we skipped on Thursday shopping. The store was packed but not as packed as Thursday night.
Met some folks at the Pata Pata bar and watched the last few games of Bingo.
We went for an early dinner at Local Store of wings and funchi fries….i have decided that I dislike the funchi fries. I ordered chicken tenders and Paul ordered the wings. The tenders were not tender and I sent them back for wings instead. The server was a bit annoyed til I showed her they could not be cut with a knife. She said she’d bring them home for her dog.
A man I do not know sent over 2 bottles of Balashi …when we thanked him he just winked. The server told us that she did not know him.
Alhambra was ugly tonight. ‘Nuf said. We lasted maybe 15 minutes.
Mosquito update.
My mosquito bites have mosquito bites.
Dental appointment tomorrow. Tooth #3 lost its filling. Fingers and toes crossed that the dreaded words “root canal and crown” are not used. I hope the filling can be replaced.
Tomorrow…. Dentist, pool, Alto Vista, Madame Janette.
I forgot to mention that yesterday we met a man here at LaCabana at the pool.
He knew Paul and I by name from reading the forum and seeing photos.
His name is Tom, but do not know his forum username.
Nice guy and we had a pleasant talk.
There are some folks that when you speak with them, they are scanning others to see if they can find someone better or more important to chat with. He was not one of ~those~ types and it was a pleasure to meet him.
No casino tomorrow. Maybe never![]()
THINK.. is it Thoughtful? Helpful? Inspirational? Necessary? Kind? sidtm
Good luck at the dentist tomorrow! Hopefully you just need a replacement filling. Sorry about the casino being so unkind!!!!
Thanks for the update... I really do enjoy your time on the island. No root canal.... and yes, a fat win at the casino!
A wise man never knows all......only fools know everything!
Love your detailed updates. So entertaining. Lol. Fingers crossed on the dental work. Enjoy MJ tonight!
Good morning Andrea,
I hope everything goes well at the dentist and that you can get back to doing what you're supposed to be doing, enjoying yourself in Aruba!
