Thank you all for your well wishes. Suitcase is by the door. Just have to put laptop in carry on in the morning so it can charge tonight. I'm now going to bed and pretend to sleep until that alarm goes off at 4am. Ugh!!

Priorities in check!

Here I am!! All settled in and unpacked (I basically move in, LOL!) Same room as last year so I'm happy. Have already received warm welcomes and hugs from my buddy Joseul, Nacio at Pega Pega, and Carmen. Chuck, I've enjoyed my first Bright with lunch (thanks for leaving me some!).
My flight from beginning to end was smooth and uneventful (oh, except when we arrived at the gate in Aruba they couldn't get the door to open; was quickly fixed but there were some nervous people; I just sat and read knowing they wouldn't leave us on the plane for long. I was prepared to slide down the shute if necessary!) Upon arrival I quickly went to the ladies' room and changed into shorts (I wore leggings on the plane since I'm always cold). Then paid a visit to Dufry's for a couple of bottles of Sauvignon Blanc for the room (chilling nicely). By then my suitcase was off the belt and waiting with others which was good. I don't think lifting my big suitcase is a good idea with my arm not yet 100%. A bit of a long line to get through customs which I haven't experienced before. But when I walked out to the taxi stand I was like "where are all the people?" I was the only one there so they loaded me into one immediately. When I looked behind me all those people were standing in line. Too bad for them! LOL!
Quick ride to Manchebo and check in. Room wasn't ready so I went over to Pega Pega for lunch. By the time I was done, Oneil came to get me and take me up to the room. Lovely man who I had not met before.
I'm going to skip the Manager's Cocktail hour today (I'll go next Tuesday) and just relax a bit. I have an awful headache and my arm is a bit sore. Going to lay on the bed with my sling on. Then I'll freshen up, go down and have a drink at Ike's Bar and hopefully see my buddies Fabian and Junior. I've gotten into Aperol Spritz's lately so may see how they do with that. Then 6:45 dinner at Ike's Bistro. Normally, I would then stop by the bar for a nightcap but I think I'm going to be pretty worn out by then. I'll report back later and let you all know what I ate for dinner (have some ideas)
Weather wise, it's cooler here than in CT and the breeze is rockin' today. Now it is completely overcast and there are some good-sized waves crashing. All okay with me because I'm in paradise!!
