I have to get this update in before I completely collapse. It's been a long day...
Went down to the bar at Ike's around 6pm and had a lovely visit (and a delicious Aperol Spritz) with one of my very favorite people here, Fabian. Dinner was at Ike's Bistro (my first night tradition) and got to visit with Carmen as she was hostessing tonight. I know seafood is king here but filet mignon at Manchebo is out of this world and I don't get it very often at home so opted for that with mashed potatoes, sauteed veggies and their yummy red wine sauce (and a glass of wine). I was pretty worn out by then so skipped app and dessert. It's only 8:30 but I'm already back in the room with my PJs on lounging in bed with my laptop (really glad I brought it this year). Have a show lined up to watch but doubtful I'll make it through the whole episode tonight. Don't think I'll have any trouble falling asleep tonight.
Alarm is set for 6:45 so I can go for a walk and grab a coffee. Will probably have breakfast at Ike's but tomorrow is all about the beach. I plan on being there all day. Thinking I'll walk down to Twist of Flavors for an early dinner and then back to Ike's for a cocktail. How does this sound? A smoked lemon drop martini! It was very cool to watch Fabian make it for the newlyweds sitting next to me. Of course, it's my Forum duty to try one so I can report how it is...
    Night my peeps!!

Lisa, your first day sounds wonderful. So happy you are there enjoying. Your dinner sounds delicious! Coincidentally, I’ve recently gotten into drinking an aperol spritz, great for summer. Tell me again what’s in it - Prosecco and what else? Our friends made them for us and then I ordered one in a restaurant. I think everyone makes them a little differently. Have a great day tomorrow. I like your agenda!

I’m sure you’re sound asleep now but it certainly seems like Day 1 was delightful! Enjoy the beach tomorrow and please do report back on that smoked lemon drop martini!

Colette, a classic Aperol Spritz is made with Aperol, Prosecco, club soda, and a slice of orange. Fabian used a burnt orange slice which added a little extra kick to it. It was very yummy...
