What a perfect day (so far)! Up early and went for a walk. That's about the extent of any exercise. Had eggs benedict at Ike's and really good coffee. They must have changed brands because it's finally strong enough for me. Yippee!!! On the beach at 9:30 where I planted myself until almost 4pm. I went down to the shore to float around with a noodle for awhile but it was a little too rough for me, so I just sat on the sand and watched the pelicans. Jumped in the pool a couple of times to cool off but otherwise I was comatose under my palapa with my Kindle. Went up to Pega Pega for lunch; had a small caesar salad with grilled chicken and a frozen lime daiquiri. Chuck, you were right about the salad. Very good but think I'll have grilled shrimp instead next time. Weather was interesting today. Not too hot, beautiful tradewinds, lots of clouds. But that just made it more comfortable IMO. I felt a couple of raindrops at one point. Also would have been fine with me! Had a nice chat with Edgar, the manager. Didn't drill him about any upcoming changes; figured I'd wait on that. LOL! Catching up on internet stuff now and am going to walk over to Twist of Flavors for an early dinner and a stop at The Market. I plan on doing their early bird dinner because one of the choices is pan-seared grouper. I'll report back when I am in for the evening (probably another early one since I'm watching a series on my laptop that I want to continue). Bye for now!

Sounds like a pretty perfect day. One of my favorite things in Aruba is watching the pelicans. They see a fish and will dive right next to you. I always get a kick out of watching people’s reaction when it happens to them for the first time.

The waves were really rough down that way today! Rich & I walked the beach early this morning and watched the waves crashing! It was absolutely pouring rain this morning.

Yum! Now I will think of you every time I have one. They are perfect for tropical weather!

I always heard Eagle Beach has rougher water than Palm Beach. But I know many who stay at the Bucuti next door to Manchebo who say they always experience calm waters. Never rough. Strange.

When we got in it looked like it had just poured....thankfully we did not see an ounce of rain today. Enjoy.

I completely missed the rain but sure could tell it had poured! I would have liked to be up when it was raining. I've only ever seen it rain on Aruba once and that was on my first trip! Hopefully, it will be calmer tomorrow so I can get in the ocean.
Dinner at Twist of Flavors was REALLY good. I opted out of the early-bird dinner since I didn't think I could eat that much. Had my favorite, a Tito's Cosmo, which they do very well. Had the pan-seared grouper with a lemon butter sauce. Two nice sized pieces which were cooked beautifully along with their famous mashed potatoes. Opted for their delicious chocolate mousse for dessert but could only eat half. But they were happy to wrap up the rest for me and it's safely tucked away in my frig for a treat another night. And that was Lisa's boring first full day! Honestly, I'm exhausted; my arm is hurting a lot more than I thought it would. I think it's because it's not really supported while I'm lying on the beach lounger. I'm going to ask for a couple of extra beach towels tomorrow so I can prop it up. Glad I brought lots of Advil and Aleve! Now just watching a show on my laptop in bed. I probably should have the sling on for support but I'm so darn tired of that thing.
Manchebo's beds are incredibly comfortable. During the pandemic when they were shut down they redecorated and bought new Saatva mattresses. It's like sleeping on a cloud. I looked into them online and may get one myself in the next few months. I'm way overdue for a new mattress. They're in NYC and will deliver to CT (and take my old one for free!).
Tomorrow will be another full beach day (although an afternoon massage is percolating in my head) and dinner at Omakase. I don't eat sushi but they have some other items on the menu I want to try. For those of you who don't know, it is inside The Chophouse at Manchebo. It gets rave reviews for its' sushi. I guess I should be doing some reviews in Culinary. That may have to wait until I get home.
Sorry about no pictures. I've never been successful at posting them. And honestly I've only taken one picture so far! Night all!

I also need a new mattress. I may have to look into that. My dog ate my mattress topper while we were in California in June.
