    Wednesday Day 2:

I must still be in work mode, as I woke at 5AM this morning, so not really rested. The wife slept a few hours longer. She had the flu and a cold a week before we traveled, so she’s still recovering a bit. We both were moving on the slower side all morning, so we took our time getting our caffeine fix and having a light breakfast, then headed to BODYZONE Fitness Center. This will be our morning routine going forward, so we’ll skip the daily details from here.

We came back to the condo, made a quick salad and then headed to Price Smart. Our membership there is starting to pay off, as we picked up several bulk items for our extended stay.

We drove through downtown and saw all the preparations being made for the parade this weekend. We have attended it once before and it is a spectacular event, but we’re sitting on the fence this year. The wife isn’t all that excited about the heat and the crowds, so we’ll probably pass. If we had a covered area and a cooler, like the local’s setup, it would be a go.

Came back to the condo and unloaded, and decided to sit poolside for a bit, starting to get acclimated to the sun. Living in Upstate NY, we always arrive here white as a ghost. At home I refer to it as Syberacuse, so it takes a little while to gain some color.

We brought an old iPhone with us, so we drove over to the Setar office in Palm Beach to purchase a local SIM card. Now that we have a car, we wanted to carry one with us, in case of emergencies and to make local calls is needed.

We were so close to the Bohemian Restaurant, that we decided to go there for happy hour. We tried it last trip and really enjoyed the setting there. Their happy hour is also half price on the entire bar. The wife was hungry, so we split the smoke salmon appetizer. Throw her a little a snack and a beverage and she’s a happy gal.

From there we went to Palm Beach Mall for our weekly movie night. Two adult tickets for $10.00 and the wife gets to chill in the A/C.

We were both winding down at that point, so it was back to the condo and off to bed, hoping to be fully recovered by morning.

    Thursday Day 3:

Went to Ling’s grocery store after lunch and checked out their 20% off meat special day. We purchased a number of chicken cut small packages, for dinners at the condo, and a few other items that we didn’t find at Super Foods or Price Smart. It appears that the interior renovation is completed now, as the takeaway food center location is completed and operational.

We spent the rest of the afternoon poolside and then went to Ricardo’s for happy hour. We tried it for the first-time last trip and added it to our favorites list.

Dinner was at the condo tonight. We used one of the public grills and cooked some of the chicken we bought at Ling’s, with mixed vegetables. It was a pleasant night, so we sat out for a while after dinner and polished off a couple more beverages. Moved inside and watched a little TV before calling it a day. We’re starting to get settled in…

    Friday Day 4:

I must finally be out of work mode, as this is the first morning that I slept past 5 AM. Rest and relaxation, here we come…

After the gym, we stopped at the restaurant supply store. We purchased a popcorn air popper at Price Smart and wanted to find a couple large bowls for popcorn. The wife loves the store, as she enjoys cooking, so she browses every isle. Found what we wanted, along with a couple other things, and then back to the condo for lunch. As the previous days, we spent the afternoon at the pool.

We went downtown for happy hour. Our first stop was Café The Plaza. We had been there a couple of trips ago when our son was visiting and enjoyed it. The first thing we noticed, was no more happy hours…so we ventured off, to see what changes had taken place at the Marketplace since our last trip. We were going to try Amuse/Three Brothers, but they didn’t have any chicken barbeque on the menu, so we passed. We walked across the street to Café Chaos. We do like the local vibe there and their happy hour from 5-7 on Fridays. We noticed that the bartender there was the one that was working at Alfies, the last time we were there. We chatted a bit over a couple of beverages and then moved on.

We were getting hungry, so we took a ride to Café 080. We split the chicken sate and vegetarian flatbread pizza. All was very good, and the total came to $23.50 plus tip.

We had had enough for the day, so headed made our way to the condo and called it a day. Not sure why we even bother turning on the TV, as the last couple of times we’ve tried to watch something, we fall asleep within a few minutes and miss the program anyway. I think we're just old

I have not seen the word "casino" in any of your reports.
Did I just miss it or have you folks not visited yet?

We too, like Cafe 080 and it is on our list for our next trip .

We have not been to a casino yet, but I'm sure it won't be long, as the wife mentioned it last night. Our first stop will probably be The Ritz.

As much as I like the Ritz casino I’ve never had much luck there. My biggest wins were at Alhambra, Crystal and Seaport with multiple good wins at each. Hope you and your wife have way better luck at the Ritz!!!
