Hello All!
I hope everyone is doing great. We started trip #35 earlier today. Our ride to the airport was a bit of an adventure. Our driver was lets just say a "hot mess" that will never drive my family again, lol- enough said. We got to the airport at about 4:30am and we have never seen it so busy, even during Xmas break! Our flight was 100 percent sold out as well. We got off the ground about 20 min late but not bad at all considering recent reports! Our flight was very bumpy from all reports but I was sound asleep prior to take off so I did not notice at all.
We landed just a few min later than expected and got thru security in less than 5 min. It took a bit for the bags to arrive but we were out of the airport and onto our hotel within 35 min from landing so zero complaints overall.
This trip is a bit different as we brought my mother-in-law this time. We brought her when CJ was 2 about 10 years ago. Upon arrival we checked into the Boardwalk and got our favorite room...all good! We had lunch over at Madero at the Ritz and loved it as always. We returned to our room and got checked in and took a nap- well at least I did, lol. After napping we met an island friend who bought us some of our favorite drinks...and had some great conversation. After our nap we went to the Divi Bar at the Ritz for another great meal. We were assisted by our good friend Jennsen and enjoyed every moment.
After dinner we walked back to our room and brought some left overs to my MIL. She is wiped out after a long day of travel. I slept well last night going to sleep by 8pm and I was able to sleep at least half of our flight so I am ready to head out for some gambling. I planned on playing poker tonight but I think it will be a blackjack night instead- hoping I can win some money and build our points that we can convert to dining points/money. I just checked and we have 800 points currently so that is at least 4 great lunches in our future plus whatever I earn along the way. I wish I had more energy as Fridays are usually great nights at the Hilton for poker but I know I don't have the ability to concentrate like I need to ....so I will pass for tonight.
I will try to keep you updated along the way the best I can. The sunset was amazing tonight and not sure whey I did not take a picture to post. Tomorrow we have a lazy day planned. We have reservations for a palapa on the beach and will dine with one of good friends again for lunch and dinner- we are boring so please don't expect much more than sun, food, drinks, gambling and a repeat the next day.
