Aruba schools are on vacation this week. It seems that a lot of local families have been staying at the resorts this year since they can't travel, and some of the locals own weeks during school holidays. I've seen reports of lots of locals at Renaissance this week.

We were walking along the palm beach hotels and this is true the Marriott grounds are pretty packed. There are not so many people at Ritz Carlton, and lounges next to water sport and Boardwalk area are completely removed on Ritz property. The rest of the hotels are also occupied possibly at 25-30%.
sunday afternoon Arashi and Eagl beach were completely full but with locals. It seems like Palm Beach área hotels are doing better then low rise area.

My son said that Eagle Beach took a real hit due to the storms on Saturday. He said a lot of the beach was not there. It might be why local people are going to the high rise area. I told him to wait a few days and the beach will come back.

surf club is at about 75 percent capacity beach is crowded and not as empty as past post suggested

most people are wearing masks but some are not, very annoying. It’s hard to have a relaxing time when there are people who just don’t listen
People are not wearing masks on the beach, not sure if the situation on hotels, staying in private sector. But all locals are wearing masks it any store. All stores are requesting one person per shopping cart, so for two of us we have to have 2 carts. They are applying this just to keep social distance. Not sure how it helps, makes more traffic in the isles.

I have a feeling that the Marriott and Ritz are renting rooms to a lot of the local people, schools are closed this week. The parking lots are full of A license plates as opposed to the V for visitors. Restaurants are pretty quiet but beach and pools are crowded

The local population is adhering to the guidelines, it’s the tourists that are not paying attention. It’s not all but more than it should be. If they tell you to wear a mask in the building or around the property then they should just do it!

We just left a few days ago. Mask are not mandatory on the beaches, or just walking around outside of public areas
It is mandatory to wear one when going into a store, restaurant (but was sitting you can take it off ) in lobbies of hotels
casinos and etc. I honestly feel that most people did wear a mask even walking outside.
