Hello!! I am here! We spent the day today at Arikok, so we were more or less off the grid all day. We hiked up to the top of Miralamar (I think that was it... Miramar? Something like that...) and boy, am I out of shape! Lol! HOT HOT HOT up there!!! Phew!! For the rest of the park, we drove the paved road. Can I just say how much I HATE those "speed ditches" or whatever the heck those are?? Ugh! Every 20 feet there is one of them! We only have a Kia Picanto, which, like I said, is basically a roller skate, so it did not like those things. Nor did I. My husband was also not fond of them, but that's cuz he didn't like my driving. He'll get over it. His driving is worse. Lol. We would have probably ended up owning the stupid Picanto if he was driving it!!
Anyway... he finally got his fish pedicure. I stuck half of one foot in and I gotta say, it was WEIRRRRRRD. Not a fan. He was like a kid in a candy store though. I have pictures of him and he looks like a little kid sitting there with his feet in the water and a huge smile on his face. He's such a goober.
@Pegmeister - I think I may have found some of those nuts you talked about in that other post!! We were at Boca Prins and I went down the steps to the bottom. Lo and behold, there were all these small black nut looking things washing up on the beach! I grabbed one, tried to see how hard it was and it was totally rotten, so it exploded in my hand in a black, gross, smelly mess. That was fun. I grabbed two others and they seem to be in tact! These look kind of like buckeyes to me. Is that what you are talking about? Anyway, if you want to find some, they seem to be at Boca Prins. Then again, these may not be what you're talking about. If not. I found some sea nuts! Woohoo! Lol!
Speaking of Buckeyes, when we were at Fontein Cave, there was another group there and one of them had on a Cincinnati Reds hat. I asked if they were from Cincinnati and one of them said, "Yes, more or less." I said, "Oh cool! We're from Dayton!" The one guy then goes, "We are too! Where abouts?" Turns out, they live about 15 minutes from where we do. Go figure! Come all the way to Aruba and meet our neighbors! Ha!!
We stopped at Lucy's in downtown for a couple beers and it was also Taco Tuesday, so that was quite a deal! $1 tacos? Yes please! I decided to forego the "beer as big as your head" this time since it was more expensive than getting the equivalent in smaller drafts, so I had multiple small ones instead. Heh.
We got back to the AirBnb and swam for a bit and are now planning to go hit up Amore Mio to try their pizza. I know it's been mentioned here and the Fireson Brewery owner also suggested it, so we're gonna give it a shot. Oh, and in case you haven't figured this out yet: yes, I will be having beer with dinner.![]()
After we're done with dinner, we are gonna go take some selfies on the blue lit up steps in front of the Hilton. Ok, no, we're not really, but we have seen more people taking selfies there than I thought possible. Lol. I'm NOT a selfies person, so that stuff just makes me roll my eyes when I see it. I know, I know, that's not very nice to say. Still...
What is FAR more likely after dinner is that we will go and try to find the aforementioned Slippery Monkeys. Not sure if we will be successful, but we will try for all of you!
More later!!![]()
Once you drive out to Fontein and park there, it's maybe 100 yards if that. The park volunteer there will walk you over and gives out some info on the property, etc. There is a short trail over to it, so it's relatively easy to get to. It has a "path" that is maintained, but has some rocks here and there.

Two more things:
1. The blue steps are not at the Hilton. They are at whatever resort has Chicken & Lobster out front. I'm not up on which resort is which yet. Lol.
2. Has anyone tried Old Cunucu House? If so, what did/do you think of it? I think I've seen people discuss it here, but I'm drawing a blank on what has been said.

Another amazing and hilarious post! Yeah, don't think I'd be too fond of little fish chewing my feet. You and hubby sure aren't letting any grass grow under your feet! I'm exhausted just reading how much you two get done in a day
Are you ever just going to sit on the beach for a day?! LOL!
Enjoy the evening and good luck trackin' down those monkeys!
Here’s a photo of my djucu. It’s brown and has a black ring around it. They also call them hamburger beans.
We enjoy Lucy’s and usually stop there before heading to the Crystal Casino. So, no scorpion shot?
