Saturday - light breakfast in the room before heading down to Spa Del Sol at Manchebo for massages. We had wonderful relaxing massages and this spa never disappoints. We asked for guest passes for the beach and they advised they could provide us 2 hours only. We had planned on spending the afternoon there as we have done in the past so were a bit disappointed but accepted the offer anyway. Hubs had mudslides and I had a couple manchitos. They recently changed their lunch menu and removed hubs favorite Cuban sandwich so we decided to head for Matthews for lunch instead. I had a burger with fries that I couldn’t finish. Hubs had some kind of panini that was similar to the Cuban he had been craving. After lunch we headed back to OC and spent a couple hours at the pool. We had dinner reservations at Yemanja. This is typically one of our faves and we hadn’t been there for a few trips, so we were really looking forward to it. Probably our expectations were too high. We sat on the covered patio and it was stifling hot. It was good, not great. Hubs had picanha and it was kind of tough. I had escargots and mushrooms and it was good but very very rich. I was full by the time my grouper filet arrived. Our drinks were great -signature margarita for me and old fashioned for hubs. I had wanted to stay for my fave espresso martini after dinner. But we were just too hot, too full, and had been there a bit longer than need be. I won’t say we were disappointed but definitely not as excited about it as past visits. Headed back to OC for a night cap on the balcony.

Sunday - our last full day and our 34th anniversary. Awoke early as we were determined to make the day last as long as possible. I scored the last front row palapa after waiting in the line at 7 am. We plopped down our stuff, had a Bloody Mary, and headed down the beach walk to Dushi Bagels. Hubs had his usual breakfast combo and I gad an order of hash browns supreme. Very healthy. Lol. We hung around the area waiting for the shops to open as I needed to pick up a few souvenirs. Found what I needed and headed back to our palapa for the day. Did a good job of polishing off all of our booze, minus 4 balashi bottles. I made sandwiches for lunch as we wanted to stay put.

Friends from home arrived Saturday (staying at Paradise Beach Villas) and came down for a visit after lunch. They spent a few hours with us, floating and sunning. They left for their dinner reservations and we stayed out in the beach for our final sunset. It was probably the best sunset we’ve ever had here. Dinner was at Casa Tua. It was really packed here and definitely no social distancing going on. We were tempted to leave but it was late and we had our hearts set on it. We just left our masks on until food arrived. The good news is it’s totally outdoors and it was very windy; also, because we sat later, guests that were close to us were finishing up. Our meals were amazing. I started with Escargot, they are better here than anywhere else, IMO. Followed by linguini w clams. Hubs had shrimp cocktail and chicken Alfredo. I never eat pasta in Aruba, but this was my 3rd pasta dish this trip. All were amazing and I hope I don’t become a carboholic. We had a couple glasses of wine with our dinner. We headed back to OC for a Prosecco toast on the balcony and stayed up late chatting and trying to extend our final day. I think we made it til midnight.

I’ll add comments about this morning and our airport experience in a new post shortly..,

Beautiful sunset! I'm sorry your Yemanja dinner wasn't all you had hoped for, but it sounds like you made the best of it. Thanks for the updates
