Happy Birthday Stu!! How does your son feel about the bullet proof vest recommendation? I can understand your concern.

I will send the birthday wishes to hubby. No retirement in the forecast, at least not yet.

David is just excited about his new job. I think the vest is just a precaution. There are a lot of unstable people everywhere and AC has some interesting neighborhoods and some really nice ones, too. It is not the AC of our childhood or the AC Stu worked in during the 1980s. The vest is one you wear under your shirt because they do not want to look like police for safety reasons.

Today was beautiful, but a bit windy. I spent my day doing various things, but not doing anything related to being on vacation.

Thank you for all the wishes for my family.

Saturday. Our friends were leaving on Saturday came by to say goodbye. Then we did some necessary stuff and headed to the pool later in the morning. We met friends for dinner at Bohemia. We had been there when they first opened and the menu was a little more limited than now. The food was very good and we had a fantastic time with our friends. I had a goat cheese salad appy and the duck dish for my entree. Both were very good. The sauce on the duck was soooo good. Stu had a lamb sausage appy and the grouper special for his entree and he enjoyed it too. Our friends have the onion soup, grouper, escargot and a shrimp dish. We were all too full for dessert. The service was very slow initially and there was some confusion about our reservation, but overall it was really great. I think I would go on a weekday though because the noise from the busy street was a little distracting-mostly loud, local cars.

Sunday; Slept in like most Sundays. Stu did his thing, I did mine which included laundry and then we headed to the pool. It was a beautiful day! We spent time talking with friends who just arrived. We headed in for a quick lunch at 12:30 and then over to our friend's rental home in the Washington area. We had a lot of laughs around the pool. Made friends with a cat that came around-they have been feeding him. I think he liked my nails scratching him.

Came back and just made a quick dinner of pasta and meat sauce. And we were able to book a hotel for our trip to Germany for a wedding in June. Tonight will be TV and working on pictures.

My day was mostly shopping and household chores. We said goodbye to a friend that is headed home tomorrow.

On a sad note, I was told that there was a death on Eagle Beach today. It sounded like an older man exited the water and collapsed at the shoreline. I am told there were police and an ambulance. I also was told(I wasn't going out there) that they left the poor man covered for several hours while being watched over by a few policemen, but the ambulance left with sirens on. I don't know if they took the spouse or went to another call. The people who told me were out there once they saw the EMS activity.

I am going to upload the pictures of the pool that someone asked me to take.
