I get that you feel safer in Aruba than SW Florida. We also felt safer in Aruba than NJ in September before the very contagious Omicron. And in NJ people do wear masks. The difference about being in Aruba right now you run the risk of testing positive before leaving the island which has major consequences.

I know that’s a major concern for many people. I’m retired, vaccinated, and boosted and if I have to stay in Aruba 5 or 6 more days, it’s not a big deal. Hopefully, cases start to subside soon.
Aruba Angela, I love your sunset photo. I agree with having to stay a few more days if given a positive result. So far I am planning on Aruba in three weeks.
We search United everyday for week 7 and 8. Flights are still very full with only a couple of terrible seats open. We would have thought with these numbers that we could find a great deal. No such luck, with only a little over 4 weeks for the time we wanted.

Thanks for sharing your observations, Angela. It is really great to get the perspective of someone vacationing on the island from mid December until now. I feel as you do, in that I compare the number of covid cases in Aruba each day to the numbers that are reported for my county back in the USA. While both areas trend the same way, the cases in Aruba are typically lower (per capita) and the Aruba residents respect and follow the guidelines in place for masking indoors. So when traveling to Aruba, I don't feel it is more risk than doing activities in my hometown, plus there is greater opportunity to continue to do outdoor activities in Aruba. Please continue to stay safe and enjoy your new vacation home in Aruba.
