I just saw the sunset pic you posted on facebook. Wow!

So I came here and just caught up with the trip report. Happy to see you're staying at Playa Linda (my home-away-from-home for 33 visits). Aren't the 2-bedrooms great?

I will be arriving two-weeks from tomorrow. The 1-bedroom units have just been remodeled, so I can't wait to see that. That's what I have in week 50.

Glad to hear the Hyatt Casino is treating you well! Keep on winning! That's my casino. The staff there are practically family to me.

Sure looks like it. They were going to try the Lion Fish Snack Aruba. It looks like they found it.

I'd be interested to hear if it's all deep fried?

    Saturday adventures

Saturday was a busy day. We booked the 8:30 tour with Seabob Aruba out of Boca Catalina. We had a fantastic experience and I will write a separate review in the activities section. We saw starfish and turtles, a scorpion fish, and a flying gurnard. I won't be able to download the pictures until I get home. We covered so much ground with the scooters!

After snorkeling, we picked up our jeep from Top Drive at the Barcelo location. It's in decent shape, Jon isnt impressed with the tires and says we will have to be careful. It was a quick and easy process picking up there.

Lunch was a much anticipated stop at the Lionfish Snack Aruba. (http://thelionfishsnackaruba.com) They are only open for the afternoon then eve ing on saturdays. It is in Pardera near Rt 4, and we found it using Google maps for directions. The owner is a teacher who hunts lionfish on the side. His mom used to make and sell fritters so he uses her recipe for the breading and it was the best fried fish batter I have ever eaten. Keep in mind my family are commercial fisherman who have owned and operated seafood restaurants so I have tried my share of batter. The fish is white and mild, very good. I preferred the filet, Jon enjoyed the wings. This hidden gem is worth a stop for any seafood lover. Lionfish are a big problem and threat to reef fish, so hunting them is necessary. He even brought out his spear to show Jon how it works. I was thoroughly impressed. It's not a restaurant so if you go, it is either take out or you can sit at a picnic table in the rear.

From lunch we went exploring and ended up at the Ayo Rock formations and wandered around a little. We headed towards Andicurrai but dont think we went the right way and would have had to walk way too far in the midday heat so we ditched that plan.

Happy hour and appetizers were at Pelican Pier.

Then we came back for music and beers on the balcony. The sunset was phenomenal - the colors in the sky were breathtaking.

    Awesome day!

They have 3 options, wings and filet are both deep fried, not sure about the wrap but most likely. It's a light batter and you could easily peel off the filet pieces. Send a message to the owner, I'm sure he would be happy to replu.
