And.... wait for it... the SUN is out! Sort of, for now. Anyway it looks to be a better day, and hopefully the clouds will not be constantly present. Chairs are secured by the lazy river and bacon is frying for breakfast. It's great to be in Aruba!
Yesterday turned out being beautiful. I spent as much time in the sun as I could. We walked down to Scott's and got a drink and sat with Kemperato and her friends for a while. Back to Surf Club for bingo and I won a game! I had to split the prize with two others, but a win is a win. We ate dinner in and walked over to Moomba. It was not busy at all, and the guy playing guitar was the same guy that was at Diana's the other night and he sounded a lot better. We left early and stopped at Nos Clubhuis for a couple drinks. We talked with the bartender and had a good time. We slept in a bit this morning and still got great seats by the lazy river. The sun is out in full force this morning!
Thanks Walt.... I'm loving the sun and the win! Keep on it!
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the best of men!
Another beautiful day in Aruba. It was very windy, but hardly a cloud in the sky. We walked down and watched the kite surfers for a while, donated to the bingo jackpot and hung out by the lazy river. Dinner was tapas at Salt and Pepper and a bowl of their Dutch pea soup. We stopped by Moomba to see our friend Matt who just arrived in Aruba and have a couple of drinks with him and are back in the room early.
I haven't been on in a while and just got a chance to catch up. While at Holiday Inn, did you have a chance to check out the piano bar there? Is it an every day thing or just certain nights or certain times of year?
Re: Lola - give them another try, but not on a Tuesday. We walked by on a Tuesday and it was packed so we went somewhere else. We went back another time, late afternoon and had the place almost to ourselves. The drinks, the food, and the service were all great.
The best trip is the next trip. Anxiously waiting to book something.
Tracey, as far as I can tell the piano bar is open everyday until midnight. It was where we drank in 2020 when everywhere else closed at 9:00. As for Lola, the chicken morita tacos were on special for a dollar, two dollars by the time we were finally seated. I asked for them on corn tortillas instead of flour and was charged full price. No other substitutions, just corn for flour. I guess if you're in need of gluten free your options are limited. We may give them another try, but it won't be on this trip.
Yesterday morning was a repeat of previous days. In the afternoon we were invited to Bella Ruby which belongs to SkiChris for happy hour. Let me say her place is amazing. So well laid out and appointed it would be a great place to rent for a week or longer. We had drinks and hors d'oeuvres and spent some time in the pool. It was a fun way to spend the afternoon away from the resort and crowds. Later in the evening we walked over to Nos Clubhuis and wished our good friend Roy happy birthday. We've known Roy for years and he has become a good friend. Several other island friends were there and after a while the whole group of us went over to Moomba to continue the party. We had a great time. Today is "Cinco de Stevo". Our friend Steve's birthday is today and we are going to Orale for dinner. Yes we have reservations. Also a quick trip to Superfoods and the gas station to top off the car this morning. Tomorrow we switch it for a van and head to the airport to pick up family. We are beyond excited to see them.
Sounds like an amazing vacation. Thanks for sharing daily reports. They’re great!
Sounds wonderful!!
I know that you are very excited about your family coming tomorrow!!!
Enjoy every moment.
