Yup.... just in case we don't already have enough rooms........ It will be interresting how that impacts the north pool.

Crazy. Does Aruba now have the theory:"Build it and they will come?"

Areas on the island that cannot keep up: sewage treatment plant, workforce, roads, airport, beaches, housing for workers, Elmar?, WEB?

On one hand they say they want people coming who have higher incomes, yet keep building. Eventually, you will have a lot of empty rooms if 1. people cannot afford them 2. if the airlines can't bring in the people OR you will have very crowded island and people will choose to go elsewhere.

I am afraid that in their greed, they will turn this small island paradise in the middle of the ocean, to a crowded, depleted disaster.

It makes me sad; and I agree with Robin. Adding more rooms without a supporting infrastructure just does not make sense. It’s just not the Aruba we always loved.

    Oh boy!
the island really will sink soon if this continues!
Haven't Hilton just built Embassy suits? wasn't that enough rooms?
The Riu Antillas will have construction both sides
This seems to be very opposite to their 'strategy' for future tourism! And when you ask about these things you are told, it was the previous government that agreed it???
100% agree with Robin, and since the price hikes, we have been looking at other destinations.....so very sad.
I still love Aruba, and hope to return this year for the first time since Sept 2019, so i guess i will see how much it has changed and if i still feel the need to return each year.
When i grow up i wanna marry Aruba!
