Yes, you'd have thought the government would have taken care of this BEFORE they authorized all the new construction. Yuck!

Its not the only one on the island, fortunetely. Upgrades on capacity has happened over the years. It's important to note that it was built before most major projects. So it would've been impossible to make adequate predictions. 55 years ago, who would've thought there would be double or triple the population and 2 million extra tourists a year.
Last year the issues at the plant were exposed by the media. This year, only one government budget later and they are already on it. That's the speed of light really in island time.

We have it better than most other islands in regards to wastewater treatment.

Great info and glad they are on it....the Eagle Beach area could be my new home away from home and I would like to walk anywhere and not smell it.
