    Resort Update June 24, 2020
    Dear Owners:

We hope that this e-mail finds you and your family safe and in good health.
Due to the COVID-19, Aruba was forced to shut its borders for the first time in history. In an effort to contain the spread of the virus, the Government of Aruba ordered a complete lockdown until the situation was under control. The island’s lockdown resulted in a substantial loss of revenue for the Cooperative Association La Cabana Beach and Racquet Club and many owners unable to enjoy their week(s) during the lockdown period.
Although this pandemic was an act of God, and as such, considered a “force majeure” with no obligation on the part of the Coop to replace the lost weeks, the Board assessed the situation and balanced the best interest of the Association and our affected owners, to agree on the following:
    • Owners in good standing (who have paid their maintenance fee accordingly) whose weeks were between week 12, March 19th through week 27/28, July 9th 2020, can book their lost week(s) based on availability over a two (2) years period, starting July 10th, 2020 and ending July 10th, 2022 (being the last reservation accepted with check out date of July 17th, 2022).
    • Compensated weeks cannot be deposited with Interval International.
    • There is an administrative fee of $35 per week to book the compensated week. No additional Guest Authorization fee will be charged if the compensated week is being booked to be used by an Owner’s guest.
    • This compensation is not valid for Owners who did not pay their maintenance fee on time.
    • Owners whose week(s) start after the opening date of Aruba’s borders but cannot use the week(s), are recommended to deposit their week with Interval International.

Please send your request to owners@lacabanabrc.com with the e-mail subject: REQUEST REASSIGNMENT OF WEEK
All arrivals are encouraged to visit Aruba’s official website: www.aruba.com for updated Entry Requirements, adhere to the Health & Safety protocols accordingly and fill out the Pre-Arrival form and submit to prearrival@lacabanabrc.com
Should there be anything that we can assist you with, please feel free to contact us.
    Kind regards,
Management La Cabana Beach Resort and Casino

That is indeed a most generous offer by La Cabana Management. I'd curious to know what Costa Linda is doing for their owners. Back in May, one of the owners was will to give us back $1,200 our of $1,400 (we only took $1,000) while the other refused to give us a dime back, even after we agreed to pay his full maintenance fee and $35 transfer fee. All we wanted was for him to return the "profit" of approximately $600 to us, which he refused. If he gets anywhere near what La Cabana has done, he'll certainly be hearing back from me.

    More Updates from Lacabana

    Dear Owner:
First, we hope that this e-mail finds you and your family in good health.
As you know, the whole world has been affected by the corona virus COVID-19. Aruba is not an exception. La Cabana Beach Resort and Casino reopened its doors on June 18th, has been preparing to welcome the first visitors from the USA on July 10th, 2020.
In an effort to avoid possible contagion, and following all the recommendations and orders from DVG and the government of Aruba, La Cabana Beach Resort and Casino has introduced several protocols and new regulations that we expect all our members and guests to respect accordingly so that together we can guarantee the continuity of our tourism industry.'
PRE-ARRIVAL FORM: It is imperative that all our members confirm their reservation with us. Please fill out the Pre-Arrival form and submit to prearrival@lacabanabrc.com as soon as possible to guarantee a smooth check-in. If you do not intend to use your timeshare, please make arrangements to avoid that it runs on No Show. You can either try to rent the unit out on your own, or deposit it with Interval International. Unfortunately, due to low demand, we are not in a position to accept rooms in the Rental Program. Please remember that unused weeks are considered lost and forfeited for the year.
CROWD CONTROL: To maintain a minimum amount of people on property, only registered guests are allowed on property, except for the area of the Bar and Restaurant, which are open to the public. The maximum sleeping capacity of the rooms cannot be surpassed. We regret that we cannot allow you to receive visits of non-registered guests in your room.
NO OUT-OF-WEEK USAGE OF FACILITIES POSSIBLE: During this period and until further notice, our members cannot use the facilities out of their week. This also applies to the usage of the gym (Health Club). We will inform you once you can start using at least the Health Club again.
CHECK-IN TIME: Our check-in is at 4:00 p.m. Upon arrival we ask that you please respect social distancing and follow the signs as indicated for the safest way to walk around the property.
CHECK-OUT TIME: Our new check-out time is at 10:00 a.m. We appreciate that you take good notice of this change to allow Housekeeping enough time to disinfect and clean the room accordingly.
HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE: During your stay, Housekeeping will not enter your room. Upon your arrival you will find a clean and sanitized room with enough supplies and additional towels. Our room attendants are not allowed into an occupied room. Please contact our Housekeeping department for additional service or any other item.
IMPORTANT LINKS: We ask that you kindly review below links for important information related to the new Resort Guidelines Post Covid-19 and Entry Requirements to Aruba.

I bet that if you put the trash cans outside the door, they will empty them.

here is what they say about housekeeping:

HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE: During your stay, Housekeeping will not enter your room. Upon your arrival you will find a clean and sanitized room with enough supplies and additional towels. Our room attendants are not allowed into an occupied room. Please contact our Housekeeping department for additional service or any other item.

This is the same as hotels in the states. The hotel associations are recommending it. I have to say after 4 nights at a beach hotel, I was missing the service, but it is a good practice. In the mornings they would have a large trash can outside of the housekeeping storage closet for your trash. It was not a classy experience..LOL, but it helped keep our room clean since we were doing more take out than we normally would on a vacation.
