another mass shooting, this time Virginia Beach

    terrible

    there are no words

good thing waltvb and family are ok

I may move to a place with no guns..crime....no hate..............that might be Antarctica ?

If nothing was done when those babies in Newton CT were executed, nothing will ever be done.

    I feel we are doomed.

It seems we hear this news almost daily and sadly it is a very real part of the world we live in. I can’t imagine where all the hate comes from. Prayers for those in Virginia.

We live about a mile and a half from the scene. It's such a terrible tragedy. You always think it could never happen near you, and then it does. Our love and condolences are with everyone involved. It has really shaken up our community. Seems like VB can't catch a break this year.

If you find that place, save some room for us.

In the coming days we'll hear again....."thoughts and prayers, etc....." and again...… no action will ever be taken.... how sad....how tragic.

I didn’t realize you lived so close! Glad that you and your family were safe.

This one felt close to home for me too. While we are a few hours away, I spent 17 years working in a public utilities in northern Virginia. For those who may not know, this was in a city public works office, where they do similar work.We had regular trainings on active shooter scenarios, but I always thought why would anyone do that here? The reality is, it can happen anywhere. Now working in the school system, I have to say the thought of mass shootings is in my mind way more than it should be. I feel like I'm rambling but I wanted to comment since this is my home state. Its tragic, and I sit here confused and helpless and angry.

Thanks. Jon just reminded me that about 6 or 7 years ago, I had applied for a job in that Public Works department.
