My prayers to Hatters and all. Andrea no more cruises please. Look at the recent news on Holland America. I have a cruise set for May which I am not going on. Norwegian said they will resume cruises April 12th but I doubt it. No one is letting cruise ships into their ports and I don't blame them...

The health department called me today. My mom tested positive for covid 19. We are in shock and heartbroken. I talk to her and the nurses by phone everyday. She is holding her own but very sick.

Here is hoping that she is able to rally and make a full recovery.
    God Bless Her.

You had mentioned that she lives at an assisted living facility.
    Have there been other cases?

    Many prayers for your mom!

Andrea, the forum wouldn't let me "quote" your question, so I'll answer it here. I don't know of any other cases where she lives. A lady down the hall passed away a few days before my mom became ill, but they said that she didn't have the same symptoms. It's not uncommon for someone to pass away there, since it's an assisted living. They went on lockdown on March 12, which was the last time that I saw her. The staff comes and goes, so it would be easy for one of them to bring it in.

Diane, I'm so sorry to hear this. I pray your mother recovers soon. My mom's place had a regular flu outbreak and restricted visitors before the Covid-19 outbreak occurred so it's been well over a month since we've been able to visit. She has Alzheimer's and doesn't know who we are (I'm an only child) so calling, although an option, just won't work. Pardon my language, but it just sucks...
