Already back from a surprisingly successful trip to the grocery store. A lot of gloved masketeers which made me more comfortable. And of course I had my Waltmask on. Actually got everything on my list including toilet paper, tissues and paper towel. I was shocked. i was really after "fillers" to round out my pending Omaha Steaks order (Peg, now one is coming Tuesday!). Vegetables i plan to slice, parboil, and put in portioned Ziploc bags in freezer (works especially well with asparagus). Oranges and apples since they will stay good for a long time in the frig. Sweet potatoes, onions and peppers so I can make a sheetpan meal with italian sausage for this weekend. A few other items. I won't need to go again for weeks. Frankly, I'm eating better now than before this crisis.
I set up a prep station on my kitchen table with an old sheet. With my gloves on i took items out of the bags, placed them on one side of the table, wiped each item down with a wipe, and placed them on the clean side to dry off before putting them away. Sheet will go in laundry, bags outside to "air out". This was suggested by a video i saw on CNN so thought I would share with you.
Back in pajamas now with my coffee and "The Zoo" marathon on. Love that show since I used to work at the Bronx Zoo in the summers during college. Will shower and dress in a bit and start prepping veggies. I don't plan on venturing out again this weekend.

I scored a grocery delivery time slot for Monday (highlight of my day)! Omaha Steak order scheduled for delivery on Tuesday. I just got the shipping notification a few minutes ago. Plus the coffee I ordered from amazon is coming Friday so we’ll eat well this week. Have to admit though I really miss my Wednesday and Friday lunches at our local spot (Grumpys) playing keno enjoying a meal like fried clams and drinking wine. One of the clam shacks has opened for takeout only so when we get really bored I may place an order. Plus we can now order a bottle of wine when getting takeout from a restaurant.

We live about ten houses from the beach. A lot of neighbors walk the Blvd just to get out. It’s a nice view, especially this time of the year if the resident swans come back. The state announced yesterday that no parking will be allowed as there were too many people gathering to take walks.

Congrats on the good success at the grocery store!
    You are motivated indeed! Kudos.

Paul and I are doing nutrisystem (began Monday) and the food that we are buying pretty much is produce.
We cheat a bit on the weekends (we are doing the 5 day nutrisystem plan) but will overindulge in green veggies and small meat portions.

Thanks for the idea of sheet pan and veggie idea. I will cut up some broccoli and add some green beans and roast today!

Tom’s sister did a drive by and left us 9 rolls! I also ordered some on amazon with an estimated delivery of May! However, I got a shipping notification yesterday with an estimated April 17th delivery date

Andrea, if you have a sweet potato, cut that up as well and add. It adds a really nice healthy element and a bit of sweetness. Just line your sheet pan with foil, throw everything on there, toss with olive oil; I also sprinkle some garlic powder and seasoned salt. Throw it in the oven at 400 until everything is nice and tender. I make a little brown rice or noodles to pour a portion over. It's become one of my fav meals. Have to give the Pioneer Woman credit for this idea!
