We need to file by our regular date of April 15 but if we owe we can defer for 3 months.

Here is one from a very unlikely source, Canada Revenue Agency. The deadline for Canadians to file their 2019 income tax return has been pushed back from the customary date of April 30 to June 1, 2020 because of the virus. Who said CRA doesn't have a soul?

Is the IRS in the US doing similar?

I absolutely detest doing taxes but I do have it on the calendar to get them done this weekend. You would think staying in I would get bored enough to break down and just do it, but nope!

I filed mine in early February and have anxiously been waiting to see the deposit since it is a bigger than usual refund. I haven't gotten it yet and I checked tonight on the IRS website for the status and it couldn't find any information which has me a bit concerned.
Looks like we have once again managed to veer off track a bit on a thread. LOL!!

Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.

Walt, LsaGrn, Andrea and everybody else,

    This was my fault Lsa.

It's so seldom (As in hardly ever) that Canada Revenue Agency here or the IRS in the US do anything deserving of praise that I thought when they do something nice for their captive clientele in either country, it should be acknowledged. Sorry about that. I'm a retired CPA, I couldn't help myself.

    Have a great day.

LOL! No apology necessary! As Walt pointed out to me, it's in the "Off Topic" category. I focused on the title of the thread and not the category. So none of us misbehaved. Have a wonderful day in chilly Canada (ain't much better here; chilly and rainy but at least no snow for the first day of Spring!).

    Good morning once again,

Our vacation to Maui is now cancelled. We were supposed to leave April 22, 2020 and stay there for 3 weeks.

The Canada-U.S. border is closed to all but essential travel. As essential as it might be to us after a long cold winter, I'm pretty sure laying on a chaisse lounge is about as far from essential as we could get.

Aruba this coming October is still a go, so far.
