Tom ventured out with me this morning for his first trip out since March 13th. Our mission was to get tomato plants at the local garden center and hopefully avoid any crowds. Most were wearing masks except for one woman who was running around looking for something. Fortunately, we avoided her and found what we were looking for. A couple of tomato plants and some basil and we were out of there. The plants were definitely over priced but looked healthy and I didn’t want to go to another store. Figure if I can pay $10 for a bag of flour then I can manage $20 a plant. Normally, we would also be buying flowers for the yard but decided to skip that for now. As we were leaving all sorts of people were coming in so we timed it right. The center is all open and they put a lot of plants in the parking lot to spread things out. It’s strange just how uncomfortable you can feel doing something so ordinary!

glad that you 2 made it out together!
even better that you avoided the person(s) that were maskless.

And did you notice how suspicious everyone seems around everyone else...… I sure sense that when I'm out and about!

The earliest Grumpy’s will be allowed to open for dine in is in 3 weeks. They have been freshening up inside and I’m sure they are anxious to be able to have dine-in. They have stayed open for take out/delivery.

When we went out this morning I noticed one of the beach spots has put out their patio furniture and are allowing people to sit out there. It was kind of crowded. I was surprised since patio dining is not yet allowed. Plus it’s on a state road along the beach and very visible. Guess they figure it’s worth the fine. The other places have not put out tables or chairs.

Absolutely! You can see those wild eyes when someone gets closer than they should! It will all take getting used to. I’m anxious to go out to lunch, play keno and have some wine and then again I’m not. Very confusing!!

I do hope you get the photo to post. We’ve been talking about what it would be like go out to lunch again. There are a lot of regulars at Grumpys and while I miss everyone, there are a bunch of huggers in the group. I hope they would remember that hugging is no longer allowed!

I went to the bank yesterday to empty and close a safety deposit box. It was weird entering the bank with a mask on, I may have missed my chance for a big payday!

That would definitely feel strange! Our credit union is drive up teller only. It’s another place we’ll need to visit when they open up.

My credit union is that way too. But the banks are open. Everyone was masked and I was one of about 6 people in the bank including guard and employees. I felt relatively safe.
