Yes it was the 100% right thing to do, sorry to be judgmental...its not like you were mean to the person you just decided for your own mental and possible physical health to move on. If they were 50 and white (myself) and coughing I would move on as well....I am an equal opportunity evader, lol.

Then she starting coughing, and I thought, maybe best to move on, so I indiscreetly tapped on the wife's shoulder and gave her the high sign. Was it the right thing to do? There were still two cruise ships in town, and we didn't know the women's situation. It is was a perfect example, of what all of us travelers are facing.

I think it was fine to move on. She was considerate in that she didn’t want to spread her germs so It doesn’t seem that she would be offended.

I can't stock up on food, etc because I not at home. If they close borders, will I be stuck here? We spent the day yesterday with friends traveling on a cruise ship with a stop here in Aruba. Should I be concerned? What about all those people coming in on ships and plane? What can they spread on the island? There is so much we can worry about and little that we can do because the experts are not sure. Everything they are saying is an educated guess because as they learn more, things change. The unknown is what is scary.
    Considered travelers.

My husband and I leave for Aruba on March 16th for 10 days. I’ve been many times with friends but it will be the first trip for my husband. I’ve been planning for 6 months. Here in Jersey there was a possible case of Corona I believe in Monmouth County. They have since reported they tested negative. The unknown is what is scary. I always travel with antibacterial wipes and wipe EVERYTHING down. I’ve been doing this for years. I think my husband is concerned if we can’t get back to the US. I tell him we’ll be fine and Aruba would be a great place for an extended vacation. We’re retired but I still think about it too. We’ll see what happens.

Passengers and airline crew who have been in China (People's Rep.), Iran, Italy, Japan or Korea (Rep.) in the past 14 days will be subject to immediate screening by the Department of Public Health. The Department of Public Health will decide if the passengers or airline crew must be quarantined or isolated.

Was going to share this here for you all to know but forgot

Looks like there is also a link on the site here that I would assume the Arubian government will keep updated as things go along: https://www.aruba.com/us/traveler-health-requirements . Nice to see that right at the top there!

Since 1980, and throughout the many changes, we still love going downtown in Oranjestad.

This and Arawak's posts contain the most important links to sites on this thread. Hopefully these and other such sites are updated as soon as new information is received and confirmed. Who could have imagined before Christmas that in the first quarter of the year we would be trying to outwit and outrun a global pandemic?

The most important link is who.int
This is the link for the World Health Organization. I encourage everyone to visit this site and read the update posted today by the Director General. Personally, I found it incredibly enlightening and somewhat encouraging.

If any of you are members of a gym remember to WIPE DOWN the equipment.....use a Clorox wipe or something equally as effective.

My husband has a treadmill buddy that is a retired employee for the Who. She is now a consultant/independent contractor and just returned from Geneva on Saturday.
She posted a notice in our clubhouse's gym about the importance of thorough cleaning of the machines.
A wipe with a towel does not cut it.

During a press conference that was televised this afternoon the suggestion was made to bring your own pen when going to vote tomorrow!
