Sorry Walt, you’re kind of far away! I discovered using baking steel. Tom and I both feel it comes out as good as any pizzeria.

    Peg that looks wonderful!
    I am starving!

Have you ever baked on on the outdoor grill?
On a pizza stone or steel, lid down, 15 + min.
We have a neighbor that does it, but it has been so hot out back at dinnertime we cannot even bear the thought of firing up the grill.

I generally use the convection oven and the baking steel at preheated 500 degrees. The pizza takes 9 minutes. If I use the outdoor gas grill it takes about 4 minutes. The thing about the outdoor gas grill is you have to be careful not to burn the bottom crust. It’s best to put the steel on top of foil wrapped bricks so the bottom doesn’t over cook.

Meet ya halfway? That's a good tip about using a steel or stone.

Peg, I just picked up Pam and Walt at Bradley. We'll be there within the hour. Maybe you better make a couple of extra pies! :-)
