    JFK. 57 yrs

We lost John F. Kennedy 57 years ago today! It was late in the day that DW mentioned it to me. I had seen nothing in the media of the anniversary of his death. We're all so preoccupied with current crisis....! And I didn't even put his initials in caps and cannot change it now....

I cannot change the title CP. sorry

The last few night we have been watching something on one of the channels that Paul loves...maybe the history channel...it was all about the trip to Texas and then other things about the assassination and then about Oswald and Ruby.

I was in 3rd grade when he was killed.
I remember it like it was yesterday.

High school geometry class... heard it thru open window from classroom above us. It was just before dismissal and announced over PA system. Lots of tears and confusion at the end of that day in the hallways.

I was also in the 3rd grade and vividly remember it. My parents wrestled with the idea of going to Washington for the funeral. From Jersey it would have been a 4 or 5 hr drive. We ended up not going because we didn’t know where we would stay. My husband was in HS and he still has a ticket to a dance that was going to be held that night. So many memories of that time in history. I still have the scrapbook my dad and I made of all the newspaper articles.

I was a Sophomore in College in my French Class. Someone knocked on the classroom door and gave us the news. Several from the college took a road trip from Biddeford, ME to Washington for the Funeral. The rest of the people were just sitting in front of the TV watching the continuous coverage. Sad Times !!!

I was 25 months old and don't remember a thing. A person I know who was in kindergarten at the time remembers it. It was half day Kindergarten, so he was supposed to be home, but it was his mom's birthday and he was with her shopping for a new hat. His dad came in the store and told them what he heard on the radio and they went home to watch the news. He was only 5 but he remembers it vividly.
