Labor Day Weekend

Since it seems to be a quiet week on the forum and I'm missing the trips reports of the last few weeks, I thought I'd start a post and give us something to chat about. What is everyone doing for Labor Day weekend?

Currently, I have no plans and I'm happy about it. This summer has been very busy and weekend of nothing might be just what the doctor ordered. I live in Boston but am originally from Long Island. Most weekends this summer I have been making the trip back to LI and staying at my parents house. I say it is so I can see my niece (2) and nephew (1), but my parent's pool is also always a big draw. I really haven't take any real vacation trips this year other than to Aruba in March/April and a weekend in Saratoga.

On a sidenote, I can't believe that next weekend is Labor Day already.

On labor day we will be packing for our Tuesday flight to the Hilton for 10 days.

I am THRILLED that Labor Day is coming.
That means Fall is close and that our temps will soon be out of the mid 90s/high humidity and back to more tolerable temps.........probably mid october

We will be hosting some friends for a Labor Day (Sunday evening) cookout and "eat in" with much beer and spiked flavor seltzer water.

The weekend at Saratoga sounds nice.

Our Vegas vacation will have come to an end. Flying home to Boston that Friday before Labor Day. So I expect we will be fighting Cape traffic to go and pick up the dog and then just hanging out at home.

Saratoga is always a nice weekend. This was my 9th year going. We started going 9 years ago as memorial for a friend's father who wanted to have some of his ashes spread on the track. Now we've made it an annual trip with about 40-60, depending on the year.

We are flying to N.Y. tomorrow for a few days, then boarding a ship in New Jersey for a Bermuda cruise on Sunday. We'll be on the cruise until the following Sunday (Labor Day weekend), and then flying home. We are celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary.
