    New Years Eve plans

    Happy New Year's Eve all.
If you are lucky enough to be in Aruba, please let us know what things you'll be doing that we will all be jealous about

If you are at home, not in Aruba.....what's the plan for tonight?

Our card group is coming here for "Dirty Marbles games", Chinese food and maybe a midnight jump into the pool if the weather is ok.

I hope that you are all planning on doing something FUN!!!
THINK.. is it Thoughtful? Helpful? Inspirational? Necessary? Kind? sidtm

Sounds like fun.... but midnight.... I haven't seen midnite on NYE for many, many years.....!

For us a simple early dinner out and then home so we don't have to dodge drunk drivers. Patti will probable do a couple more episodes of "How to Get Away with Murder".....

We're definately not life in the fast lane....!

And..... HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!

We will be home alone grilling steaks with roasted potatoes and onions and spinach, enjoying a nice bottle of wine. We have leftover cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory - red velvet cheesecake for me and salted caramel cheesecake for Larry. We don’t like being on the road on NewYears Eve. Happy new year to all!

We’re pretty boring. I made focaccia bread this morning with olives, sun dried tomatoes and feta. Appetizers of shrimp cocktail; cheese spread; deviled eggs; summer sausage and assorted cheese. I imagine we’ll enjoy the apps late afternoon. Right now we’re watching the Vegas marathon! This evening will be dessert. I made a pumpkin pie and if Quincy is doing fireworks we can watch them from our front porch. Expect we’ll be sound asleep before midnight.

We'll be having a nice, quiet evening at home with some hors d'oeuvres and of course champagne. My daughter might stop by with her boyfriend and my grandson. We won't see midnight, my daughter and her boyfriend both have to work in the morning at 0600 and Pam and I have New Year's Day brunch plans. Happy New Year!!

My son is Facetiming us right now wishing us a Happy New Year from the Philippines. It's 12:22AM 1/1/23 there.

Well we are in Aruba and thought we might be part of whatever, wherever the action is... but we are wimping out after advice from seasoned peeps.
Being a newbie, driving is still a bit intimidating in heavy traffic and at night, so we will stay in our community. Oh... and a recent close call where the other driver got out of his car to "discuss" the error of our ways... added to the decision to stay off the roads late night on NYE!!
Thank You Robin for offering a place to see the fireworks down your way, we are being chickens and watching things from here in Malmok.
We have already seen many light/noise shows from the neighborhood we back up to and even on our street. It was cool yesterday when we left win tung and the car dealer across the street just lit off his pagara there and we waited till it was done. Opened the windows of the car so the smoke would cleanse it of evil spirits after our close call the other day. I Will make a pasta dish later or maybe dinner here at Salina . If the weather agrees...it's been raining on and off since early morning, we will go to Boca C for sunset. It was a really beautiful sunset last night so either way its OK.
Enjoy your NYE everyone and Best wishes for a great 2023 !

We never go out on NYE preferring to have any family living in walking distance over for an evening of dominoes and cards. There’s 10 of us total. On Christmas Day our nephews and nieces introduced us aunts and uncles to a fun dice game called Left, Right, Center so that’s in tonight’s rotation too. I’m making a ham, potato salad, we have homemade pizza, tossed salad, and a ton of junk food like chips and dips. Everyone is bringing whatever leftover Christmas cookies that are around. My brother just texted me that he’s made a fruit salad……something about healthy New Years Resolutions!
We’re opening the night with martinis but will switch to wine, beer and soda as the evening progresses. None of us are heavy drinkers.
Everyone is coming over around 7:30. We’ll stop to watch the ball drop, my neighbors all come out an ring bells and bang pots (just like in the old days LOL) and by 12:15 everyone will have gone home. It’s just enough “excitement” for us

Tuckahoe, we’ve always played left, right, center after dinner at Christmas. It’s great because the kids can join in on the fun. Our game usually involves dollar bills with scratch tickets added for a bonus. The youngest of the group loves to latch on “as a team” to the person she thinks is most apt to win. It’s good fun. Happy New Year!!

At home we usually stay at home. Too many idiots on the road. Stu rarely makes it to midnight.

However, tonight we are having an early dinner at Papillon at 6 because I didn't plan ahead. I wanted to go some place which we could walk to and back, but I waited to long to book anything. We have a great view of the island from our front door hallway and that's where we plan to see the fireworks. We can't see the hotel fireworks, but we do see a lot of the island from here. Friends of ours are going on the beach to see them from there. We have our bottle chilling now and will take it and probably our counter height chairs outside.
