Our trip as begun. We had a 7:30 pm flight out of PHL along with 6 other people-4 of which are good friends. Originally, we were on British Airways, but a few weeks ago, we were moved to American. As of the weekend the flight was only about 40% full. However; I the earlier flight was cancelled and the empty seat next me was filled by a very large young man. Luckily, the flight was still very empty and the flight attendant was able to move him so we were both comfortable. The flight was uneventful and we arrived early at Heathrow. We had to change terminals, which we had never done before. I never realized how far apart the terminals were from each other. We spent some time in the lounge and then boarded another fairly empty plane for Paris. Immigration moved fast and our luggage was waiting for us. After some confusion meeting our driver, our coach bus drove us the 4 hours or so to Caen. Originally, there were supposed to be 12 or 14 more people in the group, but one had heart issues and another Covid(the travel agent who was supposed to lead the group) and others were supposedly afraid of lockdowns. 6 of us had dinner together and went to bed. It was a long, sleepless trip. To we are headed to Normandy. We will get to meet the rest of the group. I'll post the link to pictures later.
