    Rescheduled Cruise

Taking a few moments away from packing and organizing and stressing to pop on and begin a NonAruba trip report.

We cancelled our cruise that was supposed to depart on Sept 26 due to IAN coming in our direction.
We had 3 big concerns..........a friend who would be alone and in harm's way, our pets and the house.
    So, we cancelled.
House fine, pets fine and our friend evacuated to our house, stayed for 4 days and we brought him back home on Friday.
His area just south of Sand Key in Clearwater was unscathed! The prediction was that the storm was to demolish that area..instead it turned in 100 miles south and demolished Sanibel and Ft Myers beach areas....as well as many other areas.

We were presented with the opportunity to reschedule...
So we are heading out of Port of Tampa tomorrow on a 5 night cruise to Grand Cayman ....and Cozumel.
I will get off the ship in Cozumel to buy some Vanilla.
We are thinking about "Sting Ray City" in Grand Cayman ....
Or may just stay onboard with my crocheting and iPad reading!

Will be on the forum on and off while I am away.
We will have internet and our iPads.

Now back to watching the GOAT on SNF

That’s wonderful news! Have a great time Andrea! You will be more relaxed getting on the ship this week than you would have last week at this time. You and Paul have a blast. You both deserve it.

Take a waterproof camera of if you do Sting Ray City. We were there in 2011.

Just have fun on the cruise.

Great news Andrea - enjoy your trip! I've been to Cayman a few times, its been a few years but I loved it. Seven Mile Beach is like heaven. I stayed on the boat while the others in my party explored in the water with the stingrays - that was a big NO for me. Folks loved it though.

Have a great cruise. I went to Grand Cayman on a cruise and went to the turtle sanctuary. We loved it so much but had so little time we went back for a week and did sting ray city (amazing) and spent the rest of the time on the beach. Second only to Aruba!

    Day 1
Our cabin was without airco when we got in and it took forever for them to get us into a cabin.
We had to wait to see if there were no shows….. there were so we got a comparable cabin.
Dinner was in the main dining room as this ship has no specialty restaurants.

The casino was awful ….. very smoky and we did poorly on slots but earned it back on craps.

Today we spent the morning in the pool onboard but it was just too much sun and we called it a day by noon.
We spent a few hours at the casino and I won a few hundred and Paul lost $300 so I guess we
left almost even. Tonight we each hit for a few hundred and got out!

Dinner tonight was filet mignon for me and lamb chops for Paul.

Tomorrow is Grand Cayman and we will head to Sting Ray City but not as a ship sponsored shore excursion. We will go on our own and give our business to a smaller company.

That’s about all. Calling it a night.
