Paul and I are the least spontaneous people that we know.
Last Wednesday night I said to him if we do not get out of this house for a couple of days,
the headline will read "and then she turned the gun on herself."
So we got Lily settled in at the kennel on Saturday afternoon and we hit I75 at 6 am. When we got to the exit of I-10, we had a decision to make...continue north into Georgia or east towards Jacksonville or west towards Tallahasse, Pensacola, Mobile etc. We chose west.
Numerous bathroom and walking and stretching breaks and gas breaks. At 4 pm we checked into a Hyatt in New Orleans. After a 2 hr power nap we made our way to a bar, had a po boy sandwich and a drink and watched the football game. We cheered silently to ourselves as the Bucs (tom Brady ) won.
Today, we went to Jackson Sq, walked around the French Quarter, had beignets at Cafe DuMond and then a carriage ride around the French Quarter.
Bought myself a little "voodoo doll".....so do not tick me off
Then back in the car heading east......to Biloxi just in time for dinner at the Beau Rivage (seafood gumbo and crab cakes) and a few hours in their casino.
If you are ever in Biloxi Mississippi, the BeauRivage is really lovely.
The beach is pretty magnificent too. We will probably come back in the Spring for a few days here in Biloxi and maybe a few days at Panama Beach.
We are spending the night in a lovely suite on the 16th floor.
In 6 hrs............back in the car for the 7+ hr ride home.
I think the mileage so far is 720 from Lakeland to NO to Biloxi.
And it was cold in NO and Biloxi too.
Looking very forward to noontime on Wednesday and our vaccinations on Thursday.
