We’re in Vegas for our first bit of travel since before the pandemic. Wish it was Aruba but Vegas is fun. Thought I would pop in occasionally with what’s going on. We stayed at the Hilton at Logan airport last night as we had an early morning flight. The airport this morning was an absolute zoo! It was so crowded I couldn’t find the Mint line. It had been moved to the middle of the chaos which of course makes no sense. One of the JB employees walked us over. There were just 2 people in front of us and boy I can tell you we got looks as we moved through so quickly. They ran out of wheelchairs so Tom decided to just walk it. Mint gets a designated line for security so that worked out well. Flight was uneventful and we arrived in Vegas at 10:30 am
Love the room we got. It’s on the 38th floor facing the Venetian tower and the Mirage. It will be the perfect spot to watch the Mirage volcano. First order of business was to upgrade our players cards and get on with the gambling. Lots of new video style slots but have to say they pretty much broke my budget. Down to my last $50 so I switched to the older machines and quickly recovered my losses. So, back to the room while I’m ahead!
Vegas is mobbed. I had heard there were long waits for restaurants but we were able to walk right into Grand Luxe which worked out perfectly. The more upscale spots really do require reservations though. People are compliant with the mask wearing and it is possible to social distance in the casino.
More later….
