Is facial recognition available for all airline departures to the US or only on certain carriers?

I had facial recognition with Global Entry the last two times I used Global Entry - once coming back from Paris in October and just recently departing from Aruba - both on Delta. A husband and wife I knew used Global Entry same day as me departing from Aruba but on a different airline from me - she got facial recognition at the GE kiosk and he did not so I think it's somewhat random.

we used United. It is on all airlines. All the machines for global are the same and I asked the customs agent who I gave the receipt to. He said all global entry is now facial recognition.

The couple that I know (who I met up with at WinePort at departure) had a different experience. She got facial recognition at the GE kiosk and he did not (he had to input his answers to the usual questions and scan fingerprints at the GE kiosk.) They were traveling together and on the same airline. This was mid-Nov.

Could it be that global entry didn’t have a picture on file for him?

I don't know. Wouldn't GE have your passport photo on file?

I applied 8 weeks ago for Global Entry but applications are backed up. I sure could of use it on this trip with the hip pains instead of standing in line. Bye the way on the Alaska Cruise I did with Norwegian Customs used facial recognition during disembarkation.

Ace, don't stand in that line. Ask for assistance when you get there, I'm sure they will help you out.

My Global Entry has been Pending Approval status for 16 weeks. Don't count on a quick process.
