I think that CPVR has more amenities than Sunset Beach, but Sunset Beach is in a great location and very very very laid back.
My only experiences at Sunset Beach were in the units in the front and on the side.
Andrea, I had to laugh because my friends timeshare unit at CPVR overlooks ( 2nd fl ) that house with the chickens! We heard that rooster all the time! We’re leaning toward CPVR in a one bedroom unit. Since I’ve stayed many times, I’m familiar with it. We can walk to Cafe 080, Bingo’s, The Local Store, etc. I just need to finalize our dates.

I've been trying to put a trip together for May but I don't have a timeshare exchange as inventory is slim to none at the moment and airfare is high. However, I went to American Airlines website who I have not flown in a decade to see what their airfare is like. To my surprise they now have 1 direct flight to Aruba out of LaGuardia Airport (I usually fly out of JFK). They have a brand new renovated termination at Laguardia. Not sure if it's AA terminal. Anyway, I also forgot I have 98K Miles with AA so I research a round trip for May Business Class. I have enough miles to cover round trip business class and I would pay $91.00 in taxes. Can't get better than that!

Divi is having a 30% promotion so I may just rent out a studio at Divi Phoenix. It comes out to $3,200 for the week. La Cabana is booked!

By the way 2 things are occurring in May. The first it's my Birthday and I will turn 60. YIKES! Second, I'm retiring 5/31/23 after 37 1/2 years with my company.

We'll be forced to face a shorter trip next year.....if we even go.
When you arrive at the hotel, remind them you are a returning guest and ask if they can give you a complimentary upgrade. More often than not it works. They recognize loyalty in Aruba. It always works for me at the Marriott. You have nothing to lose but to ask. So you may be in an ocean view after all!!!

You deserve the trip with those milestones and it sounds like you got a good deal!!! Nice to be able to retire at 60 as well. Congrats!

This is so disappointing to me. I haven't been to Aruba in years and was planning on going in 2024 to celebrate my retirement. I hope things get a little better before then!

Those spontaneous last minute trips usually turn out to be the best trips! Five days is better than no days!

I agree. On my last trip I received an upgrade at Divi Phoenix which I did not ask for. They just said, we know you are a regular customer here for a few years now so we want to give you an upgrade. Very nice room too!

Thanks! Believe it or not I'm kind of laid back this year. Like I want to go and I don't want to go at the same time. Probably because I have a new resolution to lose weight and have the hip replacement surgery. I lost 10 pounds so far. Changed my diet, I'm exercising and limiting booze, junk food etc.
