    Thanksgiving Airfare from Boston

    Hello.

I am new to the group, but I have been a long time visitor of Aruba. I have at least 20 trips on my passport.

The past 10 years or so I have been going to Aruba for Thanksgiving (we usually head down the weekend before). The airfares have been creeping up over time, but this year the airfare from BOS->AUA on Jetblue is insane (nearly $2,000 per person). I am curious if people think this is the new normal. I love Aruba, but spending $8,000 on airfare (family of 4) seems insane for November. Maybe that is normal for Christmas, but it seems outrageous for Thanksgiving. Curious if anyone else is looking for airfare from Boston around this time of year. Should I start looking for a new place to go for Thanksgiving?

welcome to the aruba.com community forum.
    I hear ya!!

keep checking the prices daily and when it is something that you can handle press "buy"

My husband and I paid a ton of $$ for our son/dil and family to go to Aruba in late June.
We were uncomfortable with the price, but hit buy anyway.
In a month's time, prices have risen even higher.

Check out non stop options JB thru FLL.
    Or Delta
    Or American
    Or SWA

Tues/Wed/ Thurs travel is a little less expensive.

Welcome to the forum! Wow, that's a ransom for airfare. We're going in our usual July and booked a couple of months ago from Logan in the 650-700 range with more space seats non-stop.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the best of men!

Welcome to the forum! Was this price for first class? Sure sounds like it is. Should not be that expensive for coach. Keep checking.

We normally are in Aruba for Thanksgiving with the exception of the last two years of course. The most we ever paid for that time of year was $685 per person round trip. We only travel on JetBlue. I would not be willing to pay their current rates which when I looked today were around $1400 per person. The thing about airfares they are constantly changing. If you have flexibility with your travel days check the rates for different days. Also, I don’t know how others feel but I have never booked airfare this far out. I usually book 5 or 6 months prior.

Colette, the price I quoted is for Jet Blue from Logan, Boston and is NOT first class (Mint). It’s not even extra room seats!

Hi Peg - yes I assumed you were referring to coach. My question about first class was for ecky since he quoted $2,000 a person for airfare. So high right!

Airfares are just all over the place. I was looking at prices for May and JetBlue is around $500 per person roundtrip. Huge difference.

It’s not just Boston. We have been traveling to Aruba around Thanksgiving from DC and prices are almost double what we are used to seeing for Business class.
The best trip is the next trip. Anxiously waiting to book something.
