    Current taxi rates

We contacted a taxi company for a quote for transportation from the airport for the 4 of us to Arena Condos Aruba for April 2023. The amount quoted was $50-$55 US one way. I did see a taxi rate chart that seemed to show much lower rates but in these times I realize prices have escalated everywhere. Does anyone know if there is an updated taxi fare rate chart? I can’t seem to find anything recent.

This link shows taxi rates that are in effect through 2022 (very reasonable). The new chart for 2023 doesn’t seem to be available yet.

    thanks Colette

there are no new rates set yet for 2023

The fare is $28 from airport to Eagle Beach , so the fare you were quoted is wrong.
There is an upcharge for excessive baggage and holiday and Sundays.

Arena Condos is in the Eagle Beach area, so I used the Airport to Eagle Beach on the chart.

We just returned from Aruba and used taxis frequently. We noticed a great variance in the fares charged (not including Sunday increase, or grocery bag increase); varied from $7 to $11 for the same trip. This is the first time I have experienced this. Other rides that were longer were less $$. Made no sense at all.

see colette's posting and the link to the taxi chart.

this is what they are supposed to go by and if they do not, they are breaking the law.

Someone posted on FB about overcharging on taxi rates by substitute drivers. I posted on my trip report that I was overcharged. I reviewed the chart from High Rise Divi Phoenix to The West Deck and it listed $13.00. The cab driver charged me $17.00. On my way back to resort, a different cab driver charged me $13.00. I told him about the overcharge and he pointed to me inside the cab where the cab ID or license number is located. He said copy it next time or the license plates and report them.
