    Total of taxi costs $

Do any of you who have relied solely on taxis keep a tally of the total costs including tips?
If so are you willing to share?
THINK.. is it Thoughtful? Helpful? Inspirational? Necessary? Kind?
    Karma...It is pronounced "HaHaHaHa"

We'll be relying solely on taxis so I can let you know when vacation is over.

I did as well when I was there by myself in 2019, but other than to/from airport and one trip to/from the Hilton (for my customary visit to Gandelmann's), I never left the resort! Taxi from airport to/from Manchebo Beach Resort is $26 each way (and I tip $4 each way). I can check on that for you tonight.

I'd like to know this also. Years ago I figured where we went during a typical week and what the taxi fares would be. I compared that to renting a car for a week and it was actually cheaper to rent in our case. I'm pretty sure the taxi fares aren't what they were when I did my comparison and we are always in Aruba for 2 weeks or more.

Even though we almost solely use taxis, we spend under $100 for a week. Add to that the Depalm airport transport and it’s an additional $40 round trip. We tend to walk to most restaurants and casinos close to where we are staying. Since we also tend to stay at Manchebo and then the Renaissance we have plenty of walking options.

The current taxi rates are good through 2022 so if you download the charts you can pretty much estimate how much it will cost to get places. It's a little hard to navigate at first but once I got the hang of it, I was able to figure fares fairly accurately. Just Google "Aruba Taxi Fares" and it will take you to the gov'ts website with the charts.
Depending on how the infection numbers are will affect how much "taxi-ing" I/we do this trip. If not good, we'll most likely stick withing walking distance of Manchebo. Plenty of great restaurants on site and close by. We'd probably also still keep our reservation at Taste My Aruba since it's open-air dining. The one we might have to cancel is the Black Pearl trip. I really don't feel like packing my mask and snorkel...we'll play that one by ear.

It may not come as any surprise to some of you that I can tell you pretty much down to the penny how much I spent in 2019 (I think I still might even have all the receipts) and will be keeping a similar running ledger this time around! LOL!

Our 11 nights is July put the taxi bill at exactly 212... that's 5 dinner destination round trips and airport each way..... and good tips all around!

No worries about navigation, parking or drinking..... even with only one drink at dinner!

    thank you CP!!

your number shows that it is just as economical if not more, to take taxis than to rent a car.
