Eurokitchen came out today. Wonderful interaction. They can do things that Berloni just said "no" to doing. They can order us cabinets with built in locks so I don't have to move everything to the owners closet when we leave-food stuff, specific kitchen stuff that I know will disappear like a few of my things from Pampered Chef or my bottle stopper from Gaby's hands or might break such as my food scale. There is an odd space that I wanted open shelving for on the end of the uppers which Berloni wanted me to put in a useless cabinet with a door even though I wanted open shelves. EK, said they have a rounded cabinet that would work well there, which is exactly what I wanted. The salesman, Darwin, who we met with on Wednesday will call us to set up an appointment to do the layout. And they do not want all the money before they start, however; it seems pretty much the practice here is to pay for all the materials when ordered and we do understand that you can't just send it back here like at home. Then they want a certain % to get started and the final 10% at the end.
So from the best we can figure out we will have to 1) get someone to do the demo 2) get in the electrician to move outlets, change/add lighting, put in a few 220 lines, and to get the microwave off the same circuit as the outlets 3) have them do the install 4) if we want a tile backsplash, then get someone in but if we want something they do, it will happen at the install.
We will get the European style oven and induction cooktop and dishwasher from them and the fridge and microwave from probably AMC Unicon. They do make ovens that microwave, but we want the option to be able to use both at the same time.
