Very nice Robin! Glad you are now working with a company that realizes you are the customer(and pay their salaries)!

Today we headed to Banjolux to get the backsplash tile. They were so busy, but we left there with the tile we will need. Tomorrow I will look at each tile and make sure they are not chipped. We may have to lower our cabinets about an inch and a half if we cannot find someone to cut them since they are cement tile.

Robin, do you have an installer for the backsplash? I’m thinking of doing a backsplash in my kitchen and was going to get some estimates for the work. I was going to bring my tile that I found at floor and decor (I have a small kitchen area). I haven’t looked at tile in Aruba in a while, how is the pricing? Maybe my next trip in the spring, I’ll check out tile stores.

There is not a huge selection on the island and less if you want glass tile. I ended up buying a cement tile that matches my colors-I was just going to walk out of the store and it was sitting right in front of me. I really have no idea on what something like that costs in the US. I did find today that Kohler also has tile-I just stopped in to get an idea what they have and what they can get since we plan on doing the bathrooms in 2025.

We know someone who works side jobs who will do the install of the tile for us on his days off.

Last week we picked up all the tile from the tile store-78 8x8 tiles. I checked all of them and took back the ones with small chip and paint smears-they are all handmade in Columbia(I found the website)-this week without any issues. Banjolux was wonderful. We will get the grout and other supplies next year.

Yesterday, we got the estimate and renderings. We are pleased with the $$$$. On Saturday we will go to give them a deposit and make sure each of the cabinets is what we discussed. The estimate is in Dutch so we want to get it translated. We also need the specifications for the electrician.

Since our new stove will be induction, I need to get new pots. I saw some last week in Casa and thought it was a good price. There were several sets along with individual pieces. DoIt also has individual pieces. I went back to Casa on Wednesday and they were down to two sets. I went back to the condo, did some checking and went back and picked up one set. I will need to add one or two individual pieces. When in Aruba, you get it when you see it or it might not be there when you go back. I looked up the brand and prices at home and it was actually about the same price at home, which is a win here. I looked at TFal individual pieces here and, wow, they are expensive here.

I am taking friends to CMart tomorrow and will see if they either of the two items I want.
