    1-800 numbers

Will my iPhone with Verizon ACCEPT 1-800 numbers while in Aruba? Verizon tells me they are unsure and I need to just wait and see once I arrive?
    Thanks in advance, Tammy

You can go online to Verizon Wireless before you leave and activate the $10/24 hr charge for international calling.
Worked fine for us. Once you return to the US, it stops.

If you download the "What's App" and whoever you want to call does the same, all calls are free. Plus it works anywhere (US, Europe, Aruba, etc.)

You can use your phone on WiFi. When you are in a place, like your hotel, where there is Wifi, turn off cellular and put on airplane mode and turn on Wifi calling and connect to the WiFi. We are in Aruba for 3 months. I kept having calls drop on my Wifi calling until I turned it on airplane mode and then I had no issues. Not totally sure about 1800 numbers though.
