The more you travel the more you have it down! Also packing for a beach vacation is more stressful than going to Europe where you wear one outfit to go sightseeing and many times don’t change for dinner. For Aruba you need a variety of different clothing - bathing suits, cover ups, An outfit to change into for dinner however casual it is. I packed workout stuff and never wore it since I didn’t go to the gym! Not good with all the eating and some drinking I did! Packing a few days early helps!
Remember, take half the clothes you think you'll need and twice the cash.

LOL I actually wore 99% of my clothes. But then there’s all the suntan lotion and stuff like that needed. Larry has had skin cancer many times so I always bring extra. Sun Bum sunscreen was double the price in the Ocean Club gift shop.

I got to thinking about that as well and I would probably be more anxious about making sure we had everything, making sure bills were set up to be paid, had my laptop with me just in case, making sure the house at home was secure, etc. I guess at some point one gets into a routine when you go often for long periods of time, but I have no doubt that first time is rough!

I also worry about not getting up on time. I usually set 3 or 4 alarms for that reason. LOL. The last trip, we did not even sleep the night before because my husband works second shift and gets home around midnight and we would have had to get up at 2am to be there for 3am for the 5:45am flight. At that point, I was excited enough that I couldn't sleep but then was worried "what if I fall asleep because I am exhausted and miss the flight anyway after all this??" Oh anxiety, go away!!
Our house is one thing I don't worry about. Our younger son still lives with us and takes care of things here. He scans and emails our mail to my hubby who pays the bills, takes a picture of the solar panels generation on the first of the month and send it, etc. I do however; make sure all the filters in the heaters, fridges, etc. are changed before we leave, that the (clothes)washer is cleaned because he rarely remembers to do that, make sure that certain things are put away and things are ready for our return. Our cleaning people still come in once a week, so at least I know it is surfaced cleaned. My son drives my SUV so it is run while we are gone and both our vehicles are put on trickle chargers or whatever they are, by my hubby before we leave and out son checks them once in a while, especially mine since he does switch on and off between his truck and my SUV. Anything that comes up, he has to deal with.

That is the way to do it!! Do you rent him out? Would he like to house and dog sit for us while we are in Aruba? Hahahaha!

My one anxiety is waking up late and missing my flight. Yet I never use an alarm clock and I always get up on time to go to the airport whether I have to leave the house at 5am, 6am. I usually shave and shower the night before my flight and I'm usually 90% to 95% packed except for some toiletries. I get up, take a quick shower, packed my last items and leave for airport.

I sometimes which I could just go to sleep the night before my trip and wake up in the bed of my assigned room at La Cabana, Divi Phoenix etc. Wishful thinking! Love going there but hate the packing, going to airport, security, gate etc.

The airport portion of things is definitely nerve-wracking. Especially because we are at their mercy.
