    Aruba Vacation Length Time

If you are able to get away to Aruba for 1-3 weeks a year, would you rather break it down to multiple trips or take it all at once and wait 12 months for the next trip the following year.

I usually go twice a year May & Sep and sometimes December. I sometimes think about going for 2 weeks straight. I once went for 2 weeks back to back and stood at the Divi Golf and was able to stay in the same unit. The first week I met a lot of people who I hung out with at the pool, happy hour, Manager Cocktail party etc. I had so much fun! Second week, everyone I met checked out and the place was empty and boring. Well it was the last 2 weeks of September.

due to the price of air, we want to get as many days as possible..........that is why we try to go for 2+ weeks at a time.

judging by the very high airfares, we may have to drop to 1x a year, just late Nov.

we get up to New England 1x a year and those air prices have jumped considerably too.

we also get cruise offers and can cruise monthly for next to nothing (just tips and taxes and dog care).
it is cheaper for us to cruise for 5 days then to head to Clearwater or Cocoa beach for a weekend.
THINK.. is it Thoughtful? Helpful? Inspirational? Necessary? Kind? SIDTM

Ten days is my limit. Even with that, we usually change resorts for the last few days because I start to get itchy. Much prefer to split the time between to two trips. Of course, we haven’t been back since the pandemic started. We are for the time being staying within the US. Hopefully we’ll get back soon.

Now that I’m retired we are going 3 times a year. In the past the longest we have stayed was 10 days. This year we’re booked for May 9, July 4 and October 10 for 2 weeks each time. My biggest issue is going to be missing the grandkids! They literally live 500 feet away from us so we see them a few times a week. In a couple of years, when they’re older, we will bring them on the July trip.

We went for 11 days last month. As many of you know, it was my husbands first trip. He loved it! We’re planning on going back in Nov. for our anniversary ( a big one ). I check airfare daily and it’s crazy high! We’re thinking of staying 2 weeks to make the trip worth it. I told my husband I’ll book airfare when it’s a price I can live with. We’re not locked into specific dates ( as long as we’re there for our anniversary ) so we’ll see what happens.

For us... only once a year for 12 nights. It's so much work coming and going that we just do the once. Plus we're both still working.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the best of men!

We are here for 29 days this time. It's the longest we ever stayed. When we get home it will only be 11 months till the next trip.

WOW 29 days! Good for you! If I was doing my typical May trip we could have met up. I usually try to go around May 20th for my birthday.

We like to stay for two to three weeks at a time and have been doing that for 10 years or so. I used to fly a lot, when it was fun to fly. Nowadays I want to avoid the airports. When we used to go for a single week at a time I would never really relax, because as soon as we checked in, I was thinking about when we had to go back to NY.
