Red face Bus Schedules & Arashi Info

We are scheduled for vaccines and made the leap on scheduling for early June since prices are still pretty good. In fact SWA actually had 2 N/S flights to BWI the Saturday we are returning.

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Palm Beach (have the last 4 times), but might switch to the Aruba Marriot and Casino to "upgrade" the trip. Our typical day involves a hike to Arashi in the morning and we usually take the bus back if we're tired.

It seems the bus schedule hasn't changed... can any one there confirm that.. and other wearing a mask are there any new protocols for riding and paying the fare... or just mask up and exact change as usual?

On Arashi... wondering if the guy renting umbrellas/chairs is still in operation?

There's only two of us, so sounds like going out to eat will be no issue... and from what I'm reading it sounds like hotel bars are actually open, even at the bar itself for people staying at the hotel (??)... does that sound right?

Off the wall question of sorts.... in the past we've watched a few people catch snook right from the beach in the morning at the HI... I'm thinking with even less people jumping in all day that shore fishing may have gotten better.... maybe better snorkeling as well between the HI and Arashi. Anyone have insight on that?

    Thanks!

Here’s the link to the bus website https://arubus.com/

An upgrade to the Marriott sounds fun. Happy planning!

I can answer the shore fishing question. We stayed on the Island for 9 weeks last year and twice for 2 weeks in 2019. I fished from shore at least 6 of each 7 days. I caught Snook ( my favorite ) Blue runners, Jacks, snappers, Bonefish and Barracuda's from the shore mostly between the High Rise Hotels to just past the Divi Dutch Village. Generally the fishing was not any better with less people on the island. My best shore fishing in the past 25 years was during September of 2019.
The Bone fishing down past the fishermans huts was a bit better last year in April and May and the beaches were certainly empty.
