So glad you are still going! Looking forward to your trip report - I love reading them, I feel I am there in Aruba when you share your report!

I have my hip replacement surgery behind me now (5 weeks today) - as you know I had to cancel my April trip due to the surgery so now trying to figure out finances to possibly return to Aruba this November or December, checking things out right now. Anyway, thrilled you are still going and I'm happy for you girl!

I went online to check ticket prices for the same time we are going this year (late October) just to see what they are and, at this rate, what we paid for two business class tickets (including taxes, fees, insurance, etc.) is darn close to the price of ONE main cabin ticket (not including taxes, fees, etc.)! Thankfully, the Airbnb we get gives us a great deal and we have some time to plan for savings, but sheesh it is hard to justify going with the economy going berserk. On the other hand, this will probably mean we won't go next year so we can try and recover a little. The only "upside" (if you want to call it that) is that everyone's 401k's/IRA's/stocks/retirements are doing the same thing... dropping like the Hindenburg... so we are all in this together. Seems to be the theme of the world over the past few years, eh?

Ha! My trip reports are prolly a leetle over the top, but oh well. I have to have some fun with them!

Happy to hear your surgery is over and done and in the rearview mirror!! You will be able to walk everywhere on your next trip! Heck, you could even walk all the way to Aruba now!

Thanks everyone! Yes, so thrilled surgery is behind me and I can move on - literally!

I just booked my Aruba trip! I'll be there October 17 - 27 10 days, used my Delta e-ticket and added more towards it as the fares went up since I purchased prior. Booked the condo with Prestige Vacations at the Oceania Residences, beautiful one bedroom condo, top floor looking at Eagle Beach! Just a few steps away to my heaven on earth so, countdown is 145 days till my arrival in paradise. I've never been in October, I saw on the info I was looking at that the rainfall is greater in October - fingers crossed that won't happen

Right now it isn't impacting us. Hubby is a CFP and really good at what he does. He has been saying the stock market was due for an adjustment for a while now.
