when approved for global entry (they tell you at the interview) you are good to go.
it is linked to your passport.

so when you get to global entry at the aruba airport in the US Customs area, all you do is show/scan your passport and it reads that global entry is ready to use.

The GE interview process at the Aruban airport is after you clear US customs. We had our GE applications "conditionally approved" prior to the trip and brought this approval paperwork with us for the possible interview (printed it off from our computers). On our day of departure and getting our luggage back after clearing Aruba airport security, we proceeded to the GE line at US Customs and showed our approval paperwork to an attendant who monitors the line. We asked that we wanted to have an interview completed here.......she said we could use the GE line and then enter the interview waiting room after clearing customs. The US CBP agent cleared us, pointed out the waiting room behind his station and said we would be given more instructions by a US border agent working interviews. He stated the wait could be long, depending on how many people were in the room ahead of us. At this time, we had around 2 hours left before our flight departure. Anyhoo, we lucked out, as there was only one other couple in the waiting room for their interview.......after waiting about 15mins, a CBP agent saw we were next and escorted us inside their main office area. We sat at her desk and proceeded to have both of our interviews take place at the same time, along with our finger prints (it really isn't what I would call an interview, just answering some basic questions). After 30 mins or so, she said she was done and we'd be receiving our GE numbers and cards in the near future. That was it and believe we received an email in about a week stating our GE application status changed (from conditionally approved to approved) and got our official GE card in the mail about 2 weeks later. After receiving your card, you activated it.

In your case, if you are interviewing at the Palm Beach location, I highly doubt you will get your approval back prior to your departure time. If such is the case, you will be unable to use the GE line at the airport since you already had an interview completed at a different location. I am fairly certain just completing an GE interview process does not give you any benefit yet until your official approval is communicated back. That took us about a week later.

    The choices here being:
    1. Set up an appt time at the Palm beach location knowing the GE interview process will be completed at that time (unlike here in the USA where it may take many months to secure or get any appointment). However, completing the interview process here will give you no immediate GE benefit on your departure day at the airport.
    2. Print out your conditional approval and show up to the airport on your departure day as early as possible with the intent on having your interviews completed here. Show one of the GE monitors your conditional paperwork and ask that you want an interview.....they should allow you to use the GE line. After clearing US customs, keep your fingers crossed that the waiting room isn't full with a bunch of people ahead of you. Just keep in mind the amount of time it takes to process others in front of you, in addition to your own interview time as you don't want to miss your departure flight (remember, you still need to clear US security after going through US customs).

Hoping it all goes well for you both.

This is the exact same process I went through last May. You should be able to use the GE line for your interview, but you still have to clear immigration at the GE agents desk first. Easy-peasy

Thanks again 55greenchevy, thats what we thought. With conditional approval and doing your GE interview at Palm Beach, does not guarantee you GE entry when you depart if you dont have your GE number before you depart. So it is better to do GE interview at Aruba airport departure, time permitting so you can use GE that same day. Now the question is, how long after you complete interview at Palm Beach, does it take to get your GE # in system so you can use GE upon Aruba, departure. I guess we will have to wait to hear from a forum member who tries the Palm Beach interview method.
    Thanks

once you complete the interview at Palm Beach they tell you you are IN or NOT. (they also tell you at the airport too when you complete the interview process)
If IN...your passport is immediately linked to Global Entry and your Global Entry is immediately linked to your passport and you can use GE upon departure.

Thanks Andrea, we were hoping its the same "Good to Go" approval in Palm Beach location as in airport approval. You get to go thru GE at airport if approved and dont have to wait a week or two till you get GE # to use it. We feel much better now.
    Thanks

Sean and Susan, you're over thinking and over stressing about this. It is a very easy process and once tied to your passport you are all set. If you are approved at your interview, you are done. All you have to do is get in the GE line and breeze through that part of the airport. Unfortunately it does not expedite any other part of the delightful airport departure process we all know and love.

Just got an email from my friend at the Surf Club today. She had her appointment yesterday for interview at Palm Beach GE location and it was easy peasy. They still take walk-ins and the line was long. But if you have an appointment your good to go. She said interview only took a few minutes. We have an appointment set up at 9:15 Monday at Palm Beach GE location.
So looking forward to Aruba this Saturday afternoon.
