I agree Andrea. When I read Robin's road trip I thought wow, that is impressive. My husband has said we should take a road trip. I told him sounds great, pick me up at the airport at our destination. He can drive and I will fly. Though I am a bit jealous when I read their trip but I don't have the patience but I could sure shop alot without worrying about weight of my luggage, lol

Great points, we max out around 3-4 days in a hotel room. We love having options with a kitchen and separate bedroom, but still that resort feel so the timeshares around the island work really well for extended stays.

I did not realize how important the extra space was until we had our son...and he got a bit older. My limit in a hotel room with the 3 of us is 1 day now, lol. Its one of the big reasons I love the Boardwalk so much. We get our space and it offers much more than being in a condo of the beach somewhere...I am off the beach but I have a palapa on the beach so I can deal and I love the cost savings compared to our days at the Ritz.

    365? LOL!
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I just realized I only have 75 DAYS UNTIL I LEAVE FOR THE HAPPY ISLAND!!!! Since I made my reservations last October, it's been a long time coming. I can only go for 6 nights this trip since I've decided to splurge (for me) on Manchebo all-inclusive with a few spa visits included. Treating myself to an "all about me, myself and I " vacation. Love travelling with friends and family but no matter how much you love them, I'm sure you would all agree there's always some compromise involved. Not this time! I'm treating myself to a self-indulgent, relaxing and stress-free sojourn to my favorite place (other than Cape Cod) where the biggest decision I'll have to make is what kind of tropical cocktail I'm going to have each day. Is it okay to start packing?!

Good choice..... but hold off a bit on the packing...… you'll definitely pack twice what you'll need!

I've already pared down my preliminary list quite a bit. I'm looking forward to your trip reports, Chuck, since I know you stay at Manchebo! Peg gave me some great tips (Chophouse tiramisu and Ike's cinnamon rolls noted!) so now it's your turn! :-)

Josuel is a fantastic beach attendant! Pare down your list more.... and I mean more! Go to Manchebo's facebook page and check the videos.... there's a great one of a turtle nest hatching last July...… maybe you'll see one when you go!

We started with one week. After 2 years, we decided that one week was just not enough so we started going for 2 weeks. One year we went for 3 weeks but could't do that again because of work. We are retired now, so that has changed. Last fall we went for 16 days and this spring we went for 20 days. For us, I think 2 or 3 weeks is ideal. We have some friends that came to Aruba this spring and rented a house for 2 months. This surprised me as they had never been to Aruba before. I asked them about this and their reply was that they were going because WE loved it so much.
