For those of you who have stayed ocean front at the Manchebo, do you prefer the 1st or 2nd floor ? Also, do you prefer the northern 2 buildings, or the two to the south?

I prefer the building that is next to Bucuti. Since I’m directionally challenged I couldn’t say if it’s north or south, sorry! We’ve stayed in both the second floor and the first floor ocean front and both are nice. I give a slight edge to first floor as the patio is more open and feels roomier. The second floor balconies are narrow.
What’s nice about the first floor is you are just steps from the beach and it’s nice when you want to go back and forth to the room from the beach. It’s also great at sunset. Sit out on the patio with a drink of choice and watch the sunset. On one of our last trips we were on the second floor but couldn’t see the sunset because of a mango tree.
Any room at Manchebo is wonderful... we like the first floor best and the northern buildings.....
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the best of men!
Here’s a couple of views from 1st floor patio. sorry that they come in sideways!
I just booked Manchebo yesterday for our March trip. This is our rescheduled trip from 3/2020. We couldn’t get an ocean view room for our 11 days so our first 4 days will be a garden room. I checked for oceanfront and couldn’t get that either. I requested ground fl. for both rooms and hope we get it. I have a wonky knee and I don’t know how we’ll get our luggage up to the 2nd fl. without an elevator. As far as buildings, I don’t have a preference. I’ve only ever been to the Pega Pega beach bar. We’re celebrating a big birthday for my husband which I’ve told them. I’ve been many times, but it’s my husbands first trip. Let me know what else we should know about Manchebo. I plan on doing yoga a few mornings.
Can’t speak for Manchebo since I’ve never stayed there but I agree on that rule of thumb if there are tile or wood floors. One time there was a woman above us walking back and forth all night with noisy shoes/heels & she kept moving furniture back and forth. We could not sleep! Ugh!
