    Milk Availability

Is milk available from the mini-mart near Alhambra Casino or would we need to go to one of the grocery stores? 20+ yrs we’ve never had a need for milk but this year our granddaughter is joining us

They have milk in the cooler in the front of the store and the boxed milk on the shelves. My husband usually picks some up. I drink lactose free milk so I have to go to Lings to get mine.

My friend just mentioned he had to go there to get milk because the other stores were out of it. He said it $7 for 1/2 a gallon.

I don't recall it being that expensive. I wonder if that was in florins.

Snidely, you will be at the Tamarijn in March right?
do they not have milk included in the AI?

If the Tam does not have milk available...
i recommend bringing the qt cartons of Parmelat from home.
It is sold in the aisle that sells sweetened condensed milk. It is about $1.50 p qt and does not need refrigeration until opened.
My husband is a huge milk drinker and loves this stuff.
    It is ultra pasteurized.
In the years before AUA had fresh milk readily available every day we always brought Parmalat. We wrapped it in bubble wrap.

Yes to Tamarijn and yes to milk included. Daughter is looking to keep some milk in the room refrigerator. Told her I would check to see what is available. Being from Wisconsin (the dairy state), hoping to find fresh versus canned milk. Seemed to recall someone saying the milk at Tamarijn was canned. Maybe it was in our early years. I intend to try the milk in advance of granddaughters arrival. If it tastes good, my suggestion is to just fill an insulated mug and take it back to the room.

Bottom line is we've been longing for the day our daughter and family joined us in Aruba. We purchased 1st class air for their flights thus airfare is more $ than the 1 wk stay at Tamarijn. If fresh milk is $7 per 1/2 gal so be it. I'm happy it is available.

Thanks for everyone's input. We always look forward to our stay in Paradise however this year we have a Grandma who's excitement is keeping her awake at night. Going to be a special visit.

    Thanks again

We always buy milk at the mini mart for our coffee and cereal while we are at ABC- don’t remember how much it was but has always been good. We always say we are going to go to Lings and then we get to Aruba and say no- who wants to waste time in the grocery store-I work at one-so we really dont care what the extra is we pay. We also buy our beer there because my husband thinks the prices aren’t that much more than Lings.
