    Mosquitoes problems?

Hey guys, coming to Aruba in early september, staying at Bucuti for 9 days.
We got our travel vaccinations today and was adviced to use Mosquitoe/bug spray at all times to avoid getting biten.
And also to only wear light colors and long sleeve and pants, is it really that bad? never heard about Mosquitoes being such a problem in Aruba
Is there Zika virus or other illnesses spread by insects?

    thank you so much

    Ulf

Welcome. Are skeeters a problem, sometimes we have issues depending on how much rain they have had. That said the next time I wear long pants etc...will be the 1st outside of a wedding I was in. I would not worry or lose sleep over the mosquitos as some say they have never even seen one.
Trip 38 booked for Feb! Cant wait.

Ulf.... Welcome to the forum and it's great to have you here! In all our trips we've never had a mosquito issue! I do know that others have.... so maybe we're the exception. As far as long pants....... don't bother! Long sleeves.... I only bring one long sleeve shirt each year and that's only cuz it's a favorite linen shirt. And.... here's a tip on packing: Only bring half of what you think you'll need! And as Walt says..... twice the money!

Welcome to the forum. We’ve never had any issues with mosquitos. The only place we even saw any were at the private island for the Renaissance. They had signs up so we avoided that area of the island.

Enjoy your travels...... Aruba's gonna be quite refreshing after NYC. Bucuti is a delightful resort with a wonderful beach. Good choice!
