    Current Resort Occupancy

I'm curious to know from those who have traveled to Aruba during March-April 2021 about the occupancy at the resort they stayed at.

Also, were you able to check in earlier than usual or the usual 4pm check in?

How were the crowds at beach, pool, restaurants etc?

Ace from what I know about the hotels vs timeshares.

During mid March to now, hotels were at about 40% - 75%. Marriott Stellaris had the highest percentage.
Same time period, the timeshares were at 60% - 80%.
Surf Club, LaCabana, Playa Linda and Costa Linda at the higher percentages.

Starting on Sunday, Aruba enters into a slower season.
All Spring break school vacations will be over.

So expect that after Sunday percentages on hotels begin to drop a bit, especially if the same Covid protocols/curfew to remain.
Also to expect timeshares to stay up a bit with their percentages.
The fixed week timeshare owners are not as flexible and if they cannot bank it, many will lose it.

I have been told by the front desk manager at LaCabana that the extra cleaning procedures are not allowing for much before 4 pm entry.
    Other resorts may vary.

Are you a definite go for May?

Costa Linda 80% occupancy . Yes we checked in right at 1pm. Eagle beach was not crowded between Bucutti , Costa Linda , and Manchebo . Plenty of seats on the beach and at each of the pools. Restaurants were busy but was able to change my reservations on that day . Exception Flying Fishbone.. Hi rise area was starting to jam like the old days. I personally prefer the low rises I mentioned because of the peace and less crowded area.

This is great info. I usually go to lunch at The West Deck from airport but the resort I'm staying at Aruba Phoenix has a happy hour 2-3 and the bar food is very good so I think I might just go straight to resort and hope to check in early. I also have a trade confirmation for September at Aruba Phoenix. Looking forward to both trips!

We love the Phoenix! We are Divi Vacation club members and the Phoenix is always our first choice when we book our trips. We are staying in a penthouse for the first time when we were are there May 29th. Since we didn't travel last year we had enough points to put towards it. Looking forward to the splurge after this last year!

Depending on the timeshare rental fee I may actually get back in July for a week and October for 2.. Im not anticipating getting the rooms at Costa linda for $950 much longer. But I can always dream.

We are in Aruba (Divi Village Golf and Beach) this week and next. Not sure what the occupancy % is this week is, but is definitely much less than normal, but moe busy than we anticipated. As Andrea mentioned, our second week is usually much quieter.

    Cheers,

    George

When we were there, Jan and Feb were quiet. The last two weeks of March really picked up. It wasn't normal, but it was busier than the previous three months.

Things are picking up. Our condo has 9 bookings for the rest of the year, which is good. Stu had them run 20% off so that may sway a few people. Our kids are there until June 10, then we have a booking, then our friend's daughter is there for her delayed honeymoon. We only have one week open in July, and half of August is booked. September has one booked week, then nothing until Thanksgiving. From Thanksgiving on it is booked till Jan. I am hoping the first part of Oct. stays open because if our group trip to France gets cancelled, then we will go back to Aruba.
