    Suggestions for upcoming trip

    Hi Folks!
After a several year hiatus from Aruba, my wife and I will be returning next May for a 10 day trip. We are staying 1 week at Costa Linda, but need 3 days at the front end of our trip. We have always stayed on Eagle Beach but thought this might be a good time to shake things up a bit and stay on Palm Beach our first three days. We want a place with a nice pool area, and readily available beach palapas. We usually get a palapa first thing in the morning and then head to the pool mid-afternoon for happy hour drinks. We like to pack a cooler for the beach with snacks and beer, so need a place where that is permitted.....I know some places don't like that. We want a place within walking distance to the mall and shops as well. Playa Linda would be perfect, but has nothing available for our dates 5-3 to 5-6. Not real thrilled with idea of staying at Holiday Inn, but that location is pretty ideal so will keep that on our list of possibilities. All thoughts and suggestions would be most appreciated!

Welcome to the forum....nice of you to join us. Maybe the Hilton fits for you..... we always enjoyed the property when it was the Radisson.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the best of men!

Welcome to the forum! We add on to our trips staying at the Holiday Inn anywhere from 7 to 14 days. Don't be put off by the HI. The rooms are updated and the proximity to the beach is great. Good happy hour at the poolside restaurant and the bar. Palapas are right on the beach and if you have status with them your palapa is reserved for your entire stay free of charge. There is beach service too with servers taking care of you right at your palapa and you are welcome to bring your own food and beverages to the beach. Right across the street is Paseo Herencia mall, tons of restaurants, and within walking distance to a lively night scene. We think HI is probably one of the best locations on Palm Beach.

We also stay at Costa linda and used the Holiday Inn in the past. This year I actually called Costa linda and because we stay there so often was given the opportunity to get extra nights for $240 a night with taxes included. Staying up at palm is great to experience 2 very different vacations in 1 trip !

Welcome. My friends who add a few days to their trip often stay at Barcelo and seem to like it there.

Thanks for the nice welcome and helpful replies everyone!

Hilton would be great but is out of our budget at 450/nt. Will take a look at Barcelo and see if that might be an option for us...thought it was AI place but will take another look. HI is probably the one that makes the most sense. Is it difficult to get a palapa? Is there a signup system? Seems like I've read some reviews about frustrations getting a palapa at HI. Are the rooms all sea view? Where is their parking?

    Thanks again!
