About 17 years ago I traveled to Aruba for 3 weeks each summer, for 3 years, on my own. Husband was a bit tired of it and wanted to go elsewhere...my response....I will go anywhere you want. BUT if I don't go to Aruba I can't go back to work in the fall. I went to Aruba alone (loved it for all the reasons listed) and then we traveled to Panama for 3 years later in the summer.

    Hi there everyone,

The timing of this thread couldn't be better.

Earlier this year we booked our October trip to Aruba, staying at Sunset Beach Studios once again. After my dear wife Donna passed away recently I was wondering if I should go by myself.

I wondered if it would appear selfish but after talking and e-talking with family and friends, including privately with trusted friends here, I have decided to go. It will be a time of reflection but also a relaxing time.

I'm looking forward to being there during the third week of October. I'll let you know how it all turns out.

It's a good decision. It's a healing decision and I'm sure your precious Donna would totally approve. Good to see you back.

Thank you all so very much for your kind words and words of encouragement.

I have been one of those folks who is always second guessing themselves.

That settles it, see you in October.

^^This 100%, Glenn - Bittersweet was my first thought as well
Maybe do something you would usually do together to invoke fond memories of your fun together...
Maybe do something new and different to encourage inching forward...
